The Federal Government (FG) is seeking to secure N6 trillion fresh loans in spite of the country’s increasing debt profile.

During her presentation to the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts, Zainab Ahmed, the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning expressed confidence that Nigeria’s total public debt will hit N38 trillion by December 2021.

Debts accrued over the years with no tangible or significant impact is tantamount to endangering the posterity of Nigerians in to perpetual servitude and slavery.

We are waiting for 2023 to make decisions with our votes.

Taxes abroad are higher than here but it’s worth it as they put it to judicious use. Here, we pay tax, borrow, earn fat from oil, embezzle borrowings and yet, the narrative remains the same.

I pray this debt will not cripple our future generations.
