The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will resume the continuous voter registration in the first quarter of next year. The commission’s chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this on Wednesday in an interview with journalists after he appeared before the Senate Committee on INEC to defend his agency’s 2021 budget. He said the voter registration would last up to six months before the 2023 general elections. “The Commission intend to resume voter registration in the first quarter of 2021. “And once we resume, it will be continuous for one and half years, at least until six months to the next general election. “In other words, the Commission is not going to resume voter registration for a week, two weeks or a month but we are working out the details,” Yakubu said. Please be Warming up to register and collect your voters card if you are yet to collect We must oust some people that are due to retire but remain there . Votes do count when we vote massively for a candidate . |
