Thousands of unchecked military votes in Georgia could help President Donald Trump regain dominance in this battlefield state.

US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden unexpectedly took the lead with President Donald Trump about 1,000 votes in the battlefield state of Georgia on November 6. This is one of the developments that shows that the door to re-election of Mr. Trump is narrowing.

However, many believe that Mr Trump can still turn the tide thanks to the untold thousands of military votes, overseas votes and additional Georgia votes.

Military and overseas ballots have a longer reception period than other Georgia absentee ballots. If other ballots are only accepted with the postmark no later than November 3, then military and overseas votes are due until 17:00 on November 6.

With this deadline, Georgia could receive nearly 9,000 additional military and overseas votes. These votes could make a difference, says Count Every Hero, an organization of retired US military leaders that includes former Chief of Staff oe Dunford Jr., said.

"The military votes could have important implications in Georgia," Florida state MP Matt Gaetz said.

Georgia is one of the battlefield states deciding this year's race for the White House between Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden as it is one of the remaining states that has not yet completed the vote count. According to Fox News, Georgia has completed about 99% of the vote and the results showed that the candidate Biden yesterday suddenly took the lead with a difference of nearly 1,600 votes. Due to narrow results, Georgia decided to recount the votes.
