Frankly, security jobs should be highly paid jobs, whether you enter with WASSCE, or Bsc., and it should involve lots of training, re-training. They should be presentable and decent. Just that the recruitment would be filled with more corrupt processes if their salary is raised as one with no connection is not guaranteed a place ordinarily. They should try and pay them well, at least it would stop them from entering public bus free as if they bought the bus for the driver.

The fake police salary has been in the internet space since 2018 when the FG pledged to adjust police salary which they failed woefully till date.

Nigeria need a world class police college with a well structure insurance that would made them to refuse bribery and other sort of mischivious conducts.

They should be paid very well.... but they need to employ graduates.... not illiterates. Then there must be oversight and enforcement. As is now...there is none.... because the force is rotten from the head..... every Police is above the law... judge, jury and executioner. That need to be addressed first.

A police man once told us that their superiors gives them daily target to remit before they are sent out to the roads if u fail to meet up with the target u are punished by sending u to the bokoharam infested north east. He also said the money they extort from motorists daily is shared amongst the dpo, the state commissioner of police and all the way up to the igp at abuja.
