A 42-year-old caretaker, Matthew Ahiwe is currently cooling off in the police net in Umuahia, Abia State capital after allegedly stabbing a mechanic, Chigozie Eluwa of Eziama Ubakala to death in the early hours of Saturday.

A colleague of the deceased mechanic who gave his name as Chigozie Obinna told ABN TV that the late Eluwa lived in Umuosu community where he was allegedly killed.

Narrating further to ABN TV, Mr. Obinna stated that the suspect, Matthew Ahiwe had for a long time engaged in an argument with his late colleague, Eluwa, a situation that led him to issue the deceased a quit notice.

According to him, the deceased had concluded plans to get another apartment before he was gruesomely murdered by the caretaker at the weekend.

He further stated that their disagreement had led to the disconnection of power supply to the late Eluwa's apartment, a situation he had for long-lived with.

Confirming the incident, the PPRO Abia State Command, ASP Godfrey Ogbonna said the case has been handed over to the State CID for further investigation.

He said that the command will after investigation charge the suspect to court.

The deceased has since been deposited at the morgue.

Gra gra don end. You don kill tenant wey dey trouble you, you don lose your caretakeship and freedom for many years to come plus the stigma on your wife and children. Owner of house go appoint another caretaker. Sometimes in life, we just need to let go.
