*OWELLE PROGRESSIVE UNION WRITES GOV. OBIANO OVER IGWE ANTHONY ONYEKWERE KSM.*


The leadership of Owelle Progressive Union has renewed it's plea to His Excellency Chief Sir Willie M Obiano (Akpokuedike Global) to reconsider the suspension ban placed on their Traditional Ruler, Igwe Anthony Onyekwere KSM.


In a letter signed by Hon. Samuel Ibechi, President General, Owelle Progressive Union, Chief Christopher Udeze, Onowu of Owelle Town) Chief Chukwuemeka Ekweoba, Okpala of Owelle Town and all the Heads of villages in Owelle Town.



The Leadership of Owelle Progressive Union stated in their own words that, *"Your Excellency, ever since H.R.H, Igwe Sir Anthony Okechukwu Onyekwere assumed office as the traditional ruler of Owelle town ten years ago, we have really been marveled at his groundbreaking contributions and attitude to issues and knack towards commitment, peace, unity and development in Owelle town and beyond. A fine gentleman he is and he is always dedicated, diligent and devoted to development, peace and unity in Owelle town. We do not know of any areas we will say that our traditional ruler,*



*H.R.H, Igwe Sir Anthony Okechukwu Onyekwere is pusillanimous not even in character, in fatherly role and in health of body and mind as he is an individual that has demonstrated to be worthy of those feat. Even recently, our Igwe was part of the peace committee set by Your Excellency to resolve the communal clash between Odekpe and Allah na Onugwa and it was our Igwe that rescued the D.P.O and his team from being lynched by the warring communities. In furtherance of the search for lasting peace, our Igwe also traveled to Abuja to ensure that those arrested were released.*


They further posited in their words that *"Your Excellency, the allegation that Owelle town has never known peace right from the enthronement of H.R.H, Igwe Sir Anthony Okechukwu Onyekwere as the traditional ruler of Owelle town is false and unfounded. In fact, H.R.H, Igwe Sir Anthony Okechukwu Onyekwere has always ensured that peace reigns in all angles of Owelle town. The good and well meaning people of Owelle town have been experiencing peace and unprecedented developments in Owelle town ever since H.R.H, Igwe Sir Anthony Okechukwu Onyekwere assumed office as the traditional ruler of Owelle town. The significant fatherly role demonstrated by our Igwe has attracted the presence of many people of great repute to Owelle town. For example, Your Excellency visited Owelle town in 2017, the Secretary to the Anambra State Government (SSG), Prof. Solu Chukwulobelu in 2018, Hon. Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha and other prominent personalities who equally attested to the peace and an uneven development witnessed by our town under our traditional ruler, Igwe Anthony Onyekwere KSM."*


*Accordingly, we therefore plead with you for a worthy consideration of our plight for you to forgive our Igwe and lift the suspension ban placed on our traditional ruler, H.R.H, Igwe Sir Anthony Okechukwu Onyekwere."*
