The federal govt increased VAT, petroleum price several times and electricity tariff all within one year, and the federal govt still blames something else for the cause of inflation . It shows that there are no good economists in this administration if they can't understand factors that determine inflation and deflation even when they are very obvious embarassed

Am still wondering what to call this shallow brained minister, so the high VAT, Thinker in premium motor spirit, and Electricity, causes deflation right
Re: Zainab Ahmed: High Transportation Cost Responsible For Inflation by bbode1(m): 7:11am On Nov 14, 2020
This country funny me. A country can not make more money by increasing VAT, electricity and petroleum price. They will only strink out the money of the common man and also the economy into the govt hands. And this will cause rise in prices. Which wil still strink out more money.
A country that behaves like this on economy policy is lazy. What are the physical policies the ministry of finance must run? Make them go hire better hands.
At this point. U have to inject into the economy by reducing all tariffs, tax's, VAT, interest rate etc. U have to even create employment wether short term or contract employment. Just to inject money to the people.
If the govt need more money, let them invest, or build facilities that will give them.profit rather than over taken from us the money we don't even have enough tru tax's, VAT etc. When they are Robbin hood

Clueless government, and what has this government done to reduce transportation cost and suffering of the average Nigerian masses, the next thing they will say is they are building railways? Railway that is yet to take off, it's one story or the other

Let's take a look at Lagos.

The state government purchased buses with public funds and enterred into partnerships with their friends and family members. The buses have maintenance issues and are left to rot away. In the recent months the state government increased the rates on their routes and the danfos copied from them. The governor justified it. The 40 naira fuel promised Nigerians was one of their numerous lies to get power. In fact at a time the president said that he underated the level of decay in the economy before he became the president. Some of us wondered how he, as close as he was to the sit of power, could say that.

The last five years in this country have been hellish. First the president was there in 2015 for close to six months without a cabinet. His body language, as it was called, set the country back. His appointments were very disappointing, as there were round pegs in square holes. One man only was given three ministerial portfolios. The man boasted that light was not rocket science and he failed totally when he got the office. He failed with roads and he failed with housing. Now all we hear are those jagbajantis big grammar from him.

The clueless minister wants to tell us that cost of transport took the cost of rice from 8,000 before border closure to the present rate of 35,000? Cost of transportation sent farmers away from their farms? Cost of transport ate the crops planted by farmers instead of cows by Fulani herdsmen?

Anybody who says that APC rulership is better than the PDP rulership of 16 years truly is bewitched. Truly those who keep voting APC have chosen to embrace hardship, poverty and suffering.

Who are these people? Can you just imagine high cost of transportation is the reason for inflation and the same they are increasing fuel price. Are they expecting the cost of transportation to reduce when they increase the price of fuel?
It's quite understandable all the apparatus of the system is filled with illiterates. He gave appointments to all northerners expecting our economy to be working fine. Go to north to get your qualifications if you don't want to crack your head studying, it is so easy there. Poverty mentality people and poor intellectual minds are all given appointments to drive key areas of our economy and we expect to see our economy progressing. What you give is what you receive.

The government supported jihadist herdsmen over Southern and Middle Belt Nigerian farmers.

Thousands of farmers were killed in Southern and Middle Belt Nigeria without government doing anything, rather they claimed the herdsmen were foreigners from Libya, Mali, Burkina Faso etc and can't fight the killer herdsmen under MiyettiAllah.

IG of police refused to enforce laws made by Benue State government rather the IG of police mock the Benue State government and supported MiyettiAllah(killer herdsmen)

All these were well planned but Southerners were sleeping or interested in BBN.

The killing of farmers in the South, MB and the extortion of huge amounts of money from Farmers in the North is well planned by North West politicians.

El-Rufai is the architect and head of the bandits.
The South should keep sleeping and crying of hunger till the main war will be declared on the South and Middle Belt.

What is happening today in Nigeria is exactly how the cabals want it.

So the clueless somersault in government policies including the failure to devalue the naira, constricting taxation, indiscriminate increase in cost of fuel without a commensurate increase in minimum wage (that greatly affects transportation) among many are not responsible?

Always blaming anything except their cluelessness and incompetency. This government is filled with incredibly stupid and irresponsible people.
how wil devaluation of the naira make life better for Nigerians? This school of thought is worrisome.

No more fuel subsidy.
Why are Nigerians complaining?
Expect further increase in PMS price
if crude oil price rises further above $43.
Not sure anything will change with DG Refinery.

If most of this northern states face Agriculture with seriousness inflation can be managed because there will be excess supply and that will bring down the cost of food stuff in the market.

Your foolishness is overwhelming for saying high cost of transportation caused inflation, when Buhari is busy increasing VAT electricity Tariff, multiple fuel price hike increasing landing bills of foreign goods in sea ports
I don’t think there’s is good economists among your governments to brief the dull brain President about factors that determines inflation in a country’s economy, you guys are just there squandering Nigeria resources and trying to shift blames to other things that’s high level of incompetence.

This irresponsible government increases price for every basic amenities and borrow from left, Right, back, front and center to line their pockets yet blame others who can't defend themselves. Then they threaten us with the 'fake news' narrative when we speak up, intimidate us when we react and push the social media bill when we use alternative platforms to talk.

With this people, they have planned out a lineup of evils and you must not complain or argue. Accept it of face the music.
