What To Do When Confused And Perplexed (2) by SonofIssachar: 12:56am On Nov 18, 2020
Today, we will continue our meditation on what to do when confused and perplexed.

Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die? If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we will die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die.
-2 Kings 7:3-4

You may even find yourself in a situation with the prospect of danger looming in all corners. If the potential consequences of all options look alike, with danger ahead or behind, then forward is still the best course to take.

This was the scenario the four lepers cited above found themselves on this fateful day. They were between a famine-ravaged country and the camps of the enemies. Advancing either way meant death, but the possibility of one seemed stronger than the other. So they took a calculated risk by advancing toward the direction whose consequence they can at least control. They went forward because they didn’t know all that was out there for them. They disregarded the saying that the devil known is better than an unknown angel. They went forward.

And those steps of faith they took toward the Syrians’ camps was all God needed to do a great thing. Their wobbly movements were amplified by God such that the Syrians heard the noise of many chariots, horses and of a great army advancing toward them. Fear crept into the Syrians and they fled their camps, leaving behind all their supplies and treasures.

That is a lesson in living. To the lepers, the prospect of going forward wasn’t particularly enthralling, as they smelled danger ahead; but forward they went all the same. Secondly, for them, the movement wasn’t all that fun either, remember they were lepers. But they kept going laboriously, and as they took those painful steps, God used their steps to wreak a great deliverance. The enemies took to their heels, the coast became clear and the lepers got there only to behold a miracle and take the spoil.

It’s your turn to move!

You will succeed in Jesus Name!
