Nigerian Students Pledge Support For Ohakim
Commend non-increment in fees

Students of all tertiary institutions in Imo state under the ages of Nigerian students have passed a vote of confidence on Imo state governor, Ikedi Ohakim, promising to back him for his re-election in the April polls.
Also they commended Ohakim for graciously refusing to increase tuition fee or any other fee, praising him for his committed passion in the improvement of education sector.
The students also advised other governorship candidates, particularly those outside the Okigwe zone, the area expected to finish their remaining 4year term in the zoning arrangement to step down for Ohakim as he has shown capacity and commitment of a focussed leader.
The students who came in different buses gathered at the gate of the government Hose in Owerri on Thursday to register their appreciation and support for Ohakim.
Carrying play cards with inscriptions ‘’ No vacancy in Imo state government House, 2011, Ohakim we know, On zoning we stand, IMSU students love Ohakim, Imo stars will vote for you, Rochas should wait until after the turn of Okigwe and Owerri, among others the students expressed satisfaction and confidence in Ohakim’s leadership.
‘’we are here to humbly thank you (Ohakim) sir for rejecting the increment in the fees of all institutions of higher learning in our state. We are here to express solidarity and to assure you of our massive support for your re-election’’ Kingdom Okere spokesperson for the students noted.
In his response, Ohakim said he will remain focussed and distracted by propaganda, promising to do more so as to raise the leadership bar in the state.
He assured that there will be no fee increase, just as he promised to reduce the fees if possible.
‘’this election cannot be a reward for liars, for those who will promise us heaven and earth without telling us how they will be able to achieve it, it is not election of those who will snatch our votes and they will not have anything to offer. We are bringing revolution to the education sector, accommodation will seize to be a problem as we implement our latest strategy, and we are even going to reduce the school fees. I am the change agent Imo people can trust’’ he asserted.
