Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona team will miss the presence of their skipper Lionel Messi in champion’s league show down against Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday as the team is to travel without him.

Koeman when asked by a company of press people why he omitted Messi from the list said: “We decided not to Leo and Frenkie because our position in our Champions League group is fairly comfortable, we have nine points, and both of them needed a rest”.

Messi has been battling for consistency this season as his form dipped. The Argentine wizard has only manage to score a goal from open play with 3 in total after match day 9 which makes him the number 80 scorer in laliga.

Also Messi has failed to register any assist in laliga this season after breaking the assist record last season.
