These are good intentions.

I can see is about economic structure and agitation.

Good flowing ideas. But I don't know how much more difference this will make now. Well everything legally added to the income is good.

If Nigeria can be wise to grow from the ground up, the best electrical and power engineers need to be in Nigeria from all over the world, helping build electricity all over the country.

Leaders can focus on maintaining and slightly modifying as is infrastructure and institutions; and simultaneously going all out on the electrification of the country. 24/7/365 light.

Water and light is a very good foundation.

Machines are taking over jobs, which is what electricification can do very well, advanced countries are experiencing this, we need to be going for electricity but also being electric in our vision.
I wonder why this thoughtful message has not received 200 likes and share on this platform. I guess because it's not the one in which government is being lampoon.

Minimum wage earners should not be taxed in the first place but.... never too late to do the right thing. How will the FG make up for this loss in revenue? Shouldn't it be by increasing taxes on the rich? To make matters worse... reducing import duties on cars to 5%.... another loss of revenue. How will this help the economy or in the development of the country? Transportation?... and the road infrastructure is presently inadequate and in shambles? .. then to add competition to the local auto industry that's trying to get on its feet? We will buy locally assembled cars.... from Peugeot?.. and other foreign companies?...or Innoson and other native Nigerian companies? You're losing revenue... but promising to buy cars... where is this money coming from? If anything... duties need to be increased on cars and reduced on buses... trucks and other commercial vehicles as well as agricultural vehicles and machinery. How can the duties on these vehicles to boost the economy be double that of cars which are a burden?
I really don't know how people see this as a good development.

First, by reducing the import duties, we would have people buying more cheap imported cars, having a car in some cities and even villages is a necessity since we lack very good public transportation system, the volume of PMS consumed will increase which equals more vat, car dealers will also make more cash and govt would get more vat from these.

2nd, all our locally assembled cars in a year is less than 14thousand, while we need about 720k units every year, so car manufacturers should up their game if they want to be taking serious.

Ok.... more cheap cars imported... more VAT.... more PMS..... more VAT.... more dealers...more VAT. Total all this VAT... do you really believe it will be more than the foreign exchange used to purchase the car? VAT on PMS.... would the VAT be more than the foreign exchange lost importing more PMS? We lack a very good public transportation system.... and you think it is better to import cars than fix the system? How about the roads?... are the roads to these villages that good?
Hmmm.... we need 720K cars a year.... to drive on which roads? Bro... road infrastructure must be priority when it comes to transportation.

As regard to the bolded, you must be staying outside or in the suburb of Lagos or living in a more cheaper place, outside Lagos. The amount you quoted, cannot even feed a single person in a month, nor will it be sufficient for the person to take public transportation everyday to work in a month. Except your house is close to your work place.

.God will help us. ..To all of una wey bring this government into power and still supporting this wicked administration, una try well well ooo!!God will reward you guys and ensure you all suffer what other poor people are suffering.

YOU ARE JOKERS HOW DO YOU EVEN GO ABOUT DOING THAT? CUSE THE BANKS TAXES ANYTHING THAT ENTERS ONES ACCOUNT THE PEOPLE THAT EARN 30K WHEN THEY USE POS THEY WOULD STILL BE TAXED WITH VAT WHEN THEY BUY FUEL OR VISIT SUPER MARKETS THEY WOULD STILL BE TAXED OVER THE COUNTER. They pay when selling the cows; they pay at market gate, they pay thousands naira in tax and extortion when transporting them to southern markets.

A drop in the ocean. When these guys are serious, they'd free up more money for capital development through a drastic reduction in the salaries and allowances of political office holders.

Why can't Buhari deliver his own speech?

A man who will deny that he is not aware of the whole process.

VP of Nigeria is always Chairman of National Economic Council. He gave the speech & responded the questions as NEC Chairman.
