First, I will start by saying one way to lose an election is to work towards a run-off.

On the other hand, who do you think ACN will support if there happens to be a run-off between PDP and CPC?

I think it will most likely be PDP for some very important reasons:
1. ACN will have a better chance in 2015. If PDP wins, they will have a 4 year term of GEJ and that is it. In 2015, there will be no incumbency factor to contend with. If BB wins, there will be another incumbency mountain to overcome. If GEJ decides to contest in 2015, PDP will be torn apart.

2. ACN has the knife, PDP has the yam. ACN has the deciding factor (SW) and they can deliver it to whom offers the best deal. PDP has the resources. they can get a good deal from them. CPC has nothing to offer. Sorry! that is how politics plays out. It's all about WIIIFM!

3. ACN and PDP are more compatible than ACN and CPC. It wont take much for ACN to see why they should support their fellow Youthful aspirant rather than an old, expired dictator. Notice the Jabs Ribadu gave BB during the debate. grin grin grin

What do you think? (No insults please! this is just a scenario we are playing out here)

You mean ACN would rather go with someone who labelled them rascals?

Do you know that ACN's biggest opponent is the PDP? Especially in their strongholds of SW and Benue state?

Well, it is not impossible but it is very unfortunate that this is possibly the thinking within ACN now.
It now shows clearly that the party's leaders are at best hypocrites. They think first of themselves before the nation.

And in addition to the reasons ACN may prefer an alliance with the PDP, Tinubu can not be guaranteed that he will not go to jail if a Buhari is the president. But with a clueless Jonathan, his freedom is assured if he plays games.
I got this indication during the NN24 debate when Ribadu was praising the thief and saying that we should not look into the past (in reference to Buhari's comment to look into what happened in the power sector since 1999).

It's a big shame that Ribadu is not a principled man afterall. I mean if the acn can not reason beyond personal gain to know that kicking out the pdp is a national task that must be accomplished, then I cry for my country.

This sounds better today. However, the chances of a runoff have reduced drastically over time.
Re: Why Acn May Support Pdp In A Run-off by EzeUche(m): 7:57am On Apr 12, 2011
There will be no runoff. Goodluck will win regardless of CPC or ACN.

True. Game over for BB. More territory for ACN. PDP, share the cabinet! grin

Yes, afterall, they are rascals na! grin
Would you rather support someone with like two senators, one goat, one bicycle and four almajiri's? Dat one na death!

There will be no runoff, though.

Pls PURE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE PDP dont need rascals like ACCUTE CRONIC NUISANCE ACN. Let go to their CORRUPT PEOPLE COMMUNITY CPC. GEJ Has already won, so he dos nt need any alliance with any of ACN OR CPC PERIOD
Re: Why Acn May Support Pdp In A Run-off by Jarus(m): 10:08am On Apr 12, 2011
Deja vu! Fall bait to PDP again and lose your governors to PDP like 2003.

For once, I agree with Jarus.
Beware of the Greeks when they come calling with their gifts.
Better to go with CPC than with those foxes in PDP

^^ True talk. PDP can never be trusted. (APGA)Anambra is a typical example of what endorsing a PDP candidate can do to a party.
Re: Why Acn May Support Pdp In A Run-off by blinx4real(m): 10:26am On Apr 12, 2011
Very Laughable,
ACN is about to sweep off the governorship in the following PDP states - Akwa-Ibom, Oyo, Ogun, Benue, Kwara, Adamawa, Taraba, Bauchi, why will they sacrifice that for a second place in the Presidential?
It shows that PDP has no knowledge of Politcs and they are actually being led by a drunken fisherman! That was a proverb that PDP has still not unravelled. Your boat is about to capsize and you are busy negotiating for more fish?
The folks in ACN have learnt their lessons from the sad demise of AD and ANPP through their unholy alliance with PDP, The loss of PDP is Opposition gain, that merger will never happen!
Re: Why Acn May Support Pdp In A Run-off by blacksta(m): 10:37am On Apr 12, 2011
I laugh

APGA became irrelevant the day GEJ was endorsed as their presidential candidate.

rather than develop their regional base they were looking for rapid microwave growth

ACN should remain an opposition party to PDP or they become irrelevants

Nigerians are yearning for change not a continuation of the corrupt status quo
Re: Why Acn May Support Pdp In A Run-off by seguno2: 11:04am On Apr 12, 2011
Another main reason that is ignored by most is the fact that most of ACN candidates are PDP rejects at various levels and even in the South West.
Want a list ?
Re: Why Acn May Support Pdp In A Run-off by efisher(m): 11:09am On Apr 12, 2011
Ribadu himself has served in a PDP led government. He has a "soft spot" for PDP.
Re: Why Acn May Support Pdp In A Run-off by ayusman16(m): 11:11am On Apr 12, 2011
Any alliance between the ACN and the CPC will not be a mission to unseat PDP but to actualise the northern motive to gain power by all means?
Re: Why Acn May Support Pdp In A Run-off by HamidO1(m): 11:18am On Apr 12, 2011
^^ Wrong!! Completely wrong. The core of ACN is not the north. The results of NA elections on saturday shows that ACN's support base is not in the north at all not withstanding where their presidential candidate is from. PDP has failed and thats why it losing and will continue to loss.
Re: Why Acn May Support Pdp In A Run-off by montelik(m): 2:54pm On Apr 12, 2011
Should ACN form an alliance with PDP it will be d beginning of d end for them. Better they just stand on their own, rather than making compromised alliances.
