In the occult-people dealing in Witchcraft also speak in tongues, they also fast just like christian's fast to get spiritual results. Because someone is speaking in a tongue-it doesn't mean they are walking with God, some claim to be Christian, sitting in Churches, dancing with the devil.
Paul said: {1 Corinthians 14:19} But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.
So what did Paul mean when addressing this to believer's about speaking in tongue?
For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

Praying in tongue is a gift if you have it fine and if not pray in your mother tongue God will answer your prayer....

Hannah prayed to God at Shiloh, Jabez prayed for God to enlarge his coast and God answered their prayers, don't allow anybody to make you feel that praying in your local dialect will not yield response from God.....
