A grieving family in Rivers has urged the state Judicial Commission of Inquiry, to prosecute former Rivers Commander of disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Akin Fakorede, and four other persons, for the alleged killing of their son, Chief Nelson Yellowe.

The family at the day two hearing of petitions by the commission in Port Harcourt also demanded N1 billion as damages for the murder of the 27-year old final year student of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).

I heard this Akin Fakorede is being shielded by a former governor of RS. Some also allege that the said officer was a footsoldier for the former governor in hammering, detaining his perceived enemies.

The present government once said this notorious corps was used to destabilise the peace of RS between 2015 and 2019.
