The Academic Staff Union of Universities has agreed to call of its eight-month strike which has grounded academic activities in the public universities. The union leadership reached the consensus during a meeting with the government team led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, in Abuja, on Friday. https://www.onebaniblog.com/breaking-ASUU-agrees-to-call-off-strike-to-receive-n70bn/ The government also pledged to increase the total payment to the union to N70 billion. The Union insisted that payment of outstanding salaries must not be done as through IPPIS platform as promised, if strike would be suspended.
