Hey guys, so I've been wondering.
Why do network providers restrict you from seeing your data balance even after you've paid for the service. I've always thought there's a foul play here, Airtel never let me see the balance I have except it's a monthly plan.
I left Airtel started using MTN and their networks been shitty lately.

Now my issue is I've been using MTN pulse services more than any other and as at 2 weeks ago I was able to check my data balance by Just dialing *556# or 559# but since last week it seems they've stopped it and now I can't keep track of what I'm buying an using cos I don't want to end up using data I wouldn't want to use at night etc.

Anyone knows why they do this?

This is a false news... I am also on mtn pulse i can check my balance with *556# and *559# anytime any day. What you are facing is probably network issue in your location. Try putting your phone on airplane mode and remove it from airplane mode and check again.

Try *131*4#

*556# account balance while *131*4# is for data balance

Send 2 to 131(text message) You will receive a text with your current data balance.

it's not happening to me tho so maybe check again or might be network problems.
