BJAN HONOURS OHAKIM
The governor of Imo state, Dr Ikedi Ohakim has bagged yet another
meritorious award of excellence as most Visionary and Brand Friendly
Governor, by Brand Journalists association of Nigeria [BJAN].

Speaking during the award ceremony, the chairperson of the
organization, Mrs. Neta Nwosu described BJAN as an affiliate body of
the Nigerian Union of Journalists that saddled itself with the
responsibility of bringing to the spotlight few distinguished
Nigerians who have succeeded in cooperating visioning and branding in
public in public governance; and expressed delight in the fact that
some states are taking branding seriously.

Mrs. Nwosu disclosed that BJAN monitored the developmental and
transformative stride of various state governments in Nigeria and
captured something extra-ordinary in Imo, occasioned by the paradigm
shift Ohakim embarked upon, hence the decision to honour him as the
Most Visionary and Brand Friendly Governor.

Speaking also, the chairman of the occasion and former Minister of
Information and Communication, Dr Alex Akinyele thanked BJAN for
taking the initiative to honour two deserving global brands in the
persons of governor Ikedi Ohakim and Prof. Dora Akunyili, adding that
such gesture will spur other well meaning Nigerians to work harder,
especially public office holders.

Chief Akinyele who described Ohakim as a role model for Nigerian
youths and an icon, prayed God to bless his second term bid to enable
him continue his visionary and pacesetting leadership.

In her speech, the guest speaker, Karen Post, who spoke on the theme:
Incorporating Visioning and Branding in Public Governance” captured
Ohakim’s Clean and Green Initiative as a product of branding that has
taken Imo state and its brand-friendly Governor to international wave
length.

Karen, who advised individuals and governments to brand, stated that
branding creates loyalty, attracts ambassadors, keeps right talents,
instills trust in stakeholders and fosters public governance.

Responding, Governor Ohakim noted that BJAN Award has vindicated him,
regarding the effort to transform Imo into a modern model state;
adding that his administration has removed bureaucratic red-tapism and
god-fatherism; as well as used upwards of three years to emancipate
Imo state from infrastructural decay, filth, youth employment,
substandard education, lack of good road network, child and maternal
mortality, lack of federal presence and backwardness in the face of 29
litigations, name calling and campaign of calumny.

Governor Ohakim promised to take Imo state to greater heights in his
second term.

The award ceremony was well attended by distinguished Nigerians from
all walks of life.

make ohakim dey there dey win visionary award while others are winning awards of excellence for work done so far. the man is still in slumber, mayb by 2045, he wld hv acheived these visions
