Every day we are all likely to run a Google search to get a piece of information or even engage in extensive research. However, we find out many times that a google search can turn up so much information that we get lost trying to find what we need.
Recently, I discovered search operators that make my search more effective and exact. Here are some:

-The Quotation Mark: This ensures that Google only brings results with the exact phrase in your quotation mark. Your search will be like this: "Electoral College in Michigan". This helps to eliminate results made up of synonyms.

The (-) Operator: This allows you to exclude a particular word from the search results. So for example you want to know about Tesla outside of Elon Musk, your search will be this: Tesla -Elon -Musk. Note that the operator works per word.

The "Site" Operator- In case you forgot what part of a website you found a content and perhaps the website lacks a search function, you can find your content via google. All you need to do is include the search function thus: B2B copywriting site: www. abcdefg. com

The asterisk (*) operator: This can be used to find missing words, or words that you have forgotten. Goggle interprets an asterisk as a missing word that should be replaced with the most relevant result. For example, if you forgot the last word in the sentence “life is a merry go round”. Your search would be: “life is a merry go *

Site:edu Operator: Imagine if there was a way you could get access to materials on a topic from top universities and academic databases with one google search. Wonderful right? Well, you can do this with the "site:edu" operator. All you need to do is attach this operator to your topic. For example: Stoic philosophy site:edu
