Reps member assembles 80 doctors for 3000 surgeries in Anambra

No fewer than 80 medical doctors have been assembled by the House of Representatives member for Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo Constituency, Anambra State, Chris Azubogu, for 3000 surgery cases in the area.

The medical team led by Dr Kibu comprised ,Ophthalmologists, physicians, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, surgeons amongst others.

Azubogu said his target was to give free eye and other surgery services to over 3000 patients in the state .

He said he would also register the aged and downtrodden into the Health Insurance Scheme as part of his free medical services.

The Chris Azubogu Medical Outreach which started on Monday, was ongoing in four centres in the state.
Addressing journalists, Azubogu said
his medical outreach was in line with his parliamentary engagement which according to him, geared towards using instrumentalities of the government to intervene in the needs of the people and society.

He said, "What we are doing is not accidental, but in line with our deliberate effort to improve the wellbeing of our people

"Our effort is targeted towards making this year an improved version of the previous ones. Beyond this, we are working out some modalities to register our aged ones into Health Insurance Scheme.
" The four centres where this programme is going on are: Joint Hospital, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo LGA, Diocesan Hospital, Amichi in Nnewi South LGA,General Hospital Ukpor, Nnewi South LGA and Diocesan Hospital Akwudo,Nnewi North LGA.

One of the beneficiaries, Ngozi Okeke, said, "Some of us have been waiting for this year's Medical Outreach of Azubogu and if you noticed, we are in the celebration mood not minding that we are faced with health challenges."
