Movie Review

Joshua
Lost his father and grandmother to a bloody coup, he didn't grow up to know his mother, he loves reading, he's a refugee, he aspire to become the next Pro BMX.
Joshua is a young fella who aims to compete in a BMX tournament aside that he works as a bartender for ends meet, there he met a man who showed interest in him (not as a gay o lol) and started asking him few questions about himself and his academics, he opened up and told the man there was nothing left to do and moreover nothing matters. So this particular man popped a question: So what matters here? Joshua response was : Yo I finally got my shot (showing him the letter acknowledging his participation in the coming BMX tournament that he has been longing for ever since). Then the stranger asked again was it worth it?Joshua replied :"Every crash, every tumble, every knock, break and crack all of it worth it. That one moment... Flying, riding with Sugar i could do that forever", Then he exclaimed Freedom!!! . Little did he know that after this taste of freedom, his life, dreams and aspiration would come crashing down when he encountered with an accident on his way home.
This scene tells us that on a brink of getting closer to your dreams and goals the least you can get/expect is someone telling you that you can never ride a bike again. An unplanned events and journey opened him for Joshua. After the incident he was rescued by the strange man he met at the bar, who is popularly known as Professor Mambo.

Professor Mambo
He shows what a true leader does, he acted like a father to all, he housed other refugees, he laughs and jokes with them, a lover of books(as presumed) A dictator but also a gangster in disguise. Now Joshua stays with the professor alongside other kids of his age and below his age, Moving in with the professor and his peers gave him a new hope not to relent and also to give up on his dreams. Professor mambo strives to make Joshua proceed with his studies by tutoring him on some subjects so as to take the next examination that would hold in few months while the other kids supply books to readers on the street, with that they get food on the table, clothing and also a place to sleep.
Amidst every struggle, pain, and challenges the kids at professor mambo's house tries to put on a lighter mood or rather put a smile on their viewer's faces.

Olivia
Joshua met Olivia while stretching out his knees beside a beach, she showed him how to do it properly and ever since then they meet up there and try different exercises, although that was not their first encounter. Olivia is a beautiful lady that aims to travel the whole Africa Continent all by herself , she's a dancer, She's sweet, kind and act independently.

Joshua still focusing on his studies helps to supply books to different sets of people and also in the weirdest places. One day, during one of their usual routine to supply books to people a lady demanded for extra books unknowingly to Joshua extra books are not allowed but it was known to the other kids especially Rusty, On getting home that day, professor got furious with him ahn ahn even me sef was like oga professor be calming down nah shebi it's just ordinary book lol, well well read more to find it the reason behind oga professor's reaction.
After professor's reaction Joshua left to cool off and on his return, he was confronted by Rusty who said there's nothing special about him. That moment we can see that Rusty had Joshua in mind but who wouldn't say something as well, ever since Joshua stepped into the house it appears the attention and love was shifted on Joshua.
D-day arrived and he went for the exam after that he went partying with Olivia. On his way home, he heard a woman crying and begging, there he saw Professor mambo with some others guys,holding a gun. Joshua recognized the woman as the lady who demanded for extra books the last time he followed the other kids to supply books. It turns out the gentle, innocent professor isn't what he looks like after all, and again the books delivered to people everyday is actually a hidden note or a shield of what is actually inside it(drugs) Everyone except Joshua knew it wasn't just an ordinary book but cocaine, he cried, shouted and accused Mambo of killing the lady beside the rail way station. Joshua was pissed at them for keeping the truth from him all this while but nothing much would have changed, he would have either joined them or left.
Now Joshua is on a verge of accepting Mambo for who he is and what he does or flee from it forever, not to forget on the night of the incidence it was mambo who took him in, sheltered him and helped him with his education /academics, he told the professor he would go to the police and at that spot the professor tried strangling Joshua. Olivia came at that time and started calling the police, mambo took hold of her pushed her in the car and drove off, Joshua followed suite on his bike. At the end the professor shot himself but it didn't lead to his death, instead he ended up behind bars.

"Story learnt, Joshua thought he would never become any other person if he isn't a pro BMX but thanks to the professor for giving him an insight and also guiding him. The encounter with Mambo shows that there was something more waiting for Joshua in the outside world, it is only left for him to embrace it. Yeah it is good for one to have an ambition but also let's not put all our eggs in one basket".
