The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has hinted that insurgency and terrorism may continue in Nigeria for another 20 years. Buratai made the remark on his verified Facebook handle a few days after Boko Haram massacred rice farmers in Borno State.

According to the Army boss: “There is general misunderstanding of what insurgency and terrorism entail. There is likelihood of terrorism persisting in Nigeria for another 20 years

“Citizens responsibility is equally important and imperative. All must cooperate to contain the lingering insecurity. Let there be collective action and responsibility.”

Buhari has failed the north!!

Buratia has failed his people of Borno state!!

But thank God that the people of Borno have woken up to the reality.

You only only protected their cities and then allow Bokoharam to have a free field in their villages just for politics.

Bokoharam is now a siphon pump to some powerful politicians and top military officers.

They don't want this Bokoharam to completely end... They are cashing out billions of dollars from insurgency both from the intentional community and the billions of naira they allocate to the fight against insurgency.

Borno state Governor has decided to stand with his people and defend their lives by fully empowering Civilian JTF... Yan Gora.

I strongly believe in them cos I personally know their capacity!!

God bless Borno youths for defending their villages!!

We are solidly behind you yan Gora!!

It's now a guerilla war to guerilla war!!

The only people can defeat Bokoharam are the Kanuris themselves.

Thank God they've rise up!!

shocked After insisting that BH have been technically defeated, terribly down graded, lacking the ability to carry out major attacks or now attacking soft targets?

Imagine what a military general it took Nigeria time & resource to train is saying. So what is the difference between insurgency & terrorism? Does he even think about the implications of this reckless statement on the moral of the troops especially those who have already developed PTSD?

Nothing new! Nigeria now have quota system BH terrorist sympathizers in its army.Buratai once said sacking service chiefs will not end the insurgency because they simply know something many Nigerians dont know & also cashing out from it.

After all, Major General Biu also once said "a repented (rehabilitated and deradicalized) BH terrorist can become the president."
