Sir Tonye Okio who is the Bayelsa State Commissioner, Federal Character Commission has praised Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Timipre Silva for the steps he has taken in bringing transparency and change to the NNPC.

The NNPC recently submitted a budget to the National Assembly, something that has not been done before since it was founded in 1977.

The Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mele Kyari, was at the House of Representatives on Thursday last week to present the 2020 budget performance and 2021 estimates proposed by the corporation, the first time ever.

According to Sir Tonye Okio, Timipre sylva is a man of vision that has brought transparency to the NNPC

"Under his watch as Minister of state for petroleum and natural resources and for the first time in 43 years, the NNPC has submitted its budget to the National Assembly. Well done for being an ambassador for good and transparent governance"
