American Based Nigerian Singer ‘Nkan Eledua’ Lends Her Voice Through Lyrics by EazyGist: 7:38am On Dec 04, 2020 |
Still fuming with rage after leading a successful ENDSARS protest in Oakland California, Nkan Eledua- an Afro Fusion musician of Nigeria extraction has decided to carry on with the protest,by dropping a new song titled ‘Revolution’. In a chat with Tunjiwrites media the Activist-Singer explained that ‘the inspiration came three months before Lekki shooting. When I had a dream about so many cows swimming in clean water and I dressed in my costumes wondering what was going on, three months later looking at the way those youths faced the gun just for a better nation… This gave birth to the lyrics of that song.’ Although She doesn’t claim to be the modern day Joseph-the dreamer, the mass protest against police brutality in Nigeria by young revolutionaries home and abroad, will resonate for a long time to come. Little surprise President Buhari vowed never to allow this to happen again. That actually depends on real change taking place, so that we all can have a country we can truly call home. While we wait for this new song from this talented singer, let us enjoy one of her Conscious music performances(Asa cover) attached to this story. Meanwhile while the likes of Nkan continue to agitate for our collective freedom through music and advocacy it appears the Nigerian police force have learnt nothing as a police aide Abdullahi M. Hassan attached to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila recklessly shot dead a newspaper vendor Ifeanyi Okereke in Abuja today. Expressing regrets Mr Gbajabiamila had said ‘ Mr Okereke was a citizen going about his business, trying to make a living for himself and his family. There is no reason for his life to have ended the way it did.’ Cc @tunji Offeyi Music out on all Platforms https://nkan./_revolution
