OK lemme address this issue to a degree bases on experience and how things works on the inside.

The DSS as a intelligence agency have suffered some publicity setback due to lots of Issues they shouldnt have engaged in, thanks to osibanjo for correcting that error when he sacked the then director.

Secondly my fellow Nigerians the dynamics of intelligence opx is very dicey cuz you dealing with multiple facets of problems.. From rouge informants to misleading intelligence and foreign interference to assets placed within the agency that you not even aware about.... This last part of the scariest part of working in the DSS cuz anytime compromise can lead to undoing any progress made for at least 2 years.

Foreign interference is a lot and most of them comes in indirect forms especially in vested economic interest.... There was a time a situation was happening in a particular state in the north it took 6 months to uncover the issue because it turned out to be the culprit were ex intelligence officers whose covers were experienced consultant in a particular business sector.

Then you have the gun runners that sees Africa especially Nigeria as a juicy market... Though such counter opx is with the military, this one alone sucks lots of resources.

Then we have the subversion element that is solidly integrated into the our style of government.

It's were the fake news and all comes under, the agency is building up it's capacity at a rate like never before.... Because the fact is if there is a total break down of everything and a civil war erupts... Nigerians would wish they never engaged elements unknowingly that lead to break down of law and order..

Lastly the recruitment of mostly northerners in this administration was down to the fact that the areas especially the north east lacked an in depth a DSS operation.. Because when the Niger delta issue was on, there was more intake from the region because they know the terrain and community better.

The politicians are the ones destroying us because there are cases were certain roads lead to but you can't take it because of the person at the end of it.

There are tools on internet now to use to counter-monitor and counter-surveil these guys. I can tap into this yusuf bichi's communication line and monitor conversation, and he wouldnt even know it. There is a tool now called networking mapping.
