Premier League Star Speaks Nigerian Pidgin English



Pidgin English is a mixture of English and local Nigerian languages which enables people who do not share a common language to communicate.


The evergreen attacker who has won the Premier League golden boot twice was on target on Sunday as Leicester City defeated Sheffield United by 2-1 in a match day eleven fixture.


The Sunday fixture was almost ending in a draw with moments of the match remaining, James Maddison fed in Vardy, who scampered clear of the home defence and slotted his shot past Aaron Ramsdale.


The 33-year-old boyhood fan of Blades' rivals Sheffield Wednesday celebrated by running to the corner flag and snapping it with his boot.

Credits must be given to Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi for teaching some Leicester City players like Jamie Vardy how to speak pidgin English.

The same pidgin wey many of us nor dey proud of , but because vardy speak am now it don enter news , na inferiority complex dey affect us for Nigeria wey make us dish our pidgin and local dialect. Abeg let’s move to revive this sweet language GOD has given us , it’s our identity , na the only language the whole country fit understand and flow with without straining the ears .
