Below you will see a recent drive-through video of Ikoyi, Lagos -- a fast growing economic center with many corporate offices, hotels, and residential buildings. The streets are only 2 lanes wide in either direction, which is way too narrow for a business district in a mega city of 20 million people. As the population density of Ikoyi continues to grow, within five years, the roads will become extremely congested with traffic and unusable.

It will also be impossible to expand the roads without destroying the side walks or demolishing millions of dollars worth of buildings that have sprouted up alongside the street.

Why are Nigerians so brainless and incapable of properly planning for the future? Why do we continue proving to the world that the black man is a monkey who can't do anything right and is incapable of managing his own affairs? And before you scapegoat the government, remember, Lagos is not a village. Why didn't the educated citizenry pressure the government to enact better planning instead of this nonsense -- it will be their businesses that suffer when this area turns to a slum.

Roads in early developed areas across d world are usually narrow....... So many reasons justified it.

Ikoyi is among d early developed places in Nigeria, so the road will be narrow just as d case in ebute-metta and yaba.

If u go to Europe, most of their early developed areas also have narrow roads.

No be every time ur brain go dey hot. cheesy

This is Jakarta Indonesia. 20 years ago in the year 2000, Nigeria was richer than this country on a per capita basis. Now look at them -- moving forward while Nigerians continue to live like dumb animals.

How can I calm down while my people are behaving like monkeys? There is no refuge in this world for the black man. Either we live as an unwanted immigrant in a white country or we live like an animal in Africa. Suffering and smiling is not my portion. I will speak the truth

You want to suffer and smile... continue. Nothing will change with passive people like you. You are part of the monkey population holding us all hostage.
