The Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr. Samuel Uche, has appealed to political leaders to listen to citizens who desired for a better Nigeria.

Uche made the appeal at the signing and adoption of the new constitution of the Methodist Church during the 12th biennial conference held in Lagos.

According to a statement on Monday, he said, “Let our political leaders show care for people in the provision of good amenities. We urge our leaders in government, civil service and politics to maintain steady progress in terms of quality and other social ingredients that will make our country dynamic.

“Presently, our nation is going through so many challenges. As Methodists, we are aware of the economic challenges facing our nation, yet we have not stopped praying for Nigeria. Our challenges include unemployment, ASUU strike, and lack of some basic infrastructure, to mention but a few. As a church, we will continue to pray that God will turn things around for our good.”

The cleric stressed that members of the church were called to embrace God’s triumphing grace which came through Jesus Christ.
