Between Atiku (PDP) And Tinubu (APC): Who Do You Think Is Most Likely To Win by Ekundayo7574(m): 6:04pm On Dec 09, 2020 |
The Duo of Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu are influential Politicians, each accomplished in his own right, they are very rich, and have limitless contacts. It is crystal clear that both of them have been relevant in the scheme of the 4th Republic Political Landscape. Ahead of the Forthcoming 2023 Presidential Poll, Tinubu and Atiku might slug it out for the Top Seat under the APC and PDP platforms respectively. Let's take a look at their individual profiles 1. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu In the last 21years(1999 - Till date), All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain who is popularly known as "Jagaban" has risen to become a Legend in the Nation's Political Space, A Former Lagos West Senator (1992 - 1993) and Two-term Governor of Lagos State (1999 - 2007), Tinubu survived several Political Tsunami including as the only Alliance for Democracy (AD) Governor that won a re-election in 2003. The 68years-old Politician also facilitated the formation of the All Progressives Congress, a Party that Successfully dislodged the then ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). The Osun State-born Tinubu has been long expected to run for the country's number one seat. 2. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar "Atiku" is an Household name in the Nigeria's Political Circle, the Adamawa State-born Businessman and Politician was Nigeria's Vice-president between 1999 and 2007 under the Administration of Former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Unlike Tinubu who has never contested for Presidency , the 74years-old Atiku has made Four consecutive attempts to become Nigeria's President either as an Aspirant or Candidate, but was unsuccessful. Not giving up on his Ambition, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has not hidden his intention to succeed the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari come 2023. Who among them do you think stands a better chance of succeeding Buhari in 2023

If it comes down to Atiku(PDP) vs Tinubu(APC) in 2023, Atiku will win with a landslide The reason is simple, the North would still want to retain power after Buhari and will vote heavily for Atiku. Tinubu has always been a nobody in the SE/SW and is most likely not going to get any votes outside the SW if he runs against Atiku 11 Likes 1 Share |

gidgiddy: And you think all northerners are in support of Atiku? Winning elections is beyond the region you come from, if not Jonathan wouldn't have became a president. It's about lobbying, serious underground work and how you can strategically win the electorates and major political influencers to your side. 2 Likes |

Atiku will win, but I hope he(Atiku) doesn't get the PDP ticket. |

efighter: One doesn't have to fear the north. Infact, one of the reasons why the north seem to dominate the political space is because of the too much respect whether consciously or unconsciously given to them by the southerners. Now, they act as king, and even in this 21st century, despite the level of education here, we still have that psyche. But the good news is that, it's on record that Abiola from the west defeated his northern opponent with a wide margin. So if other southern part still believe in this northern dominant hoax, then it's left for them. But the WEST will always prove them wrong! |

Bodexman: All that lobbying & underground work has a lot to do with rigging. That was APC's main strategy to beat Obaseki but the masses changed the game. |

All Buhari has to do is to raise Tinubu's hand and tell the north that he will keep his legacies alive and there you have it. The north will follow the instructions of their greatest leader since Ahmadu Bello. But I know that Buhari is going to hand over to the SE so the case of Tinubu doesn't arise. 1 Like |

nettpen: If that's what it means to you, then I'm sorry I can't correct you. Orji Kalu was seen moving around, entertaining visitors from different sections of the country, what does that mean to you? Or you think winning elections means sitting in one corner and be threatening other parts of the country to do your bidding? And for the rigging, are you new to the political space to realize that the two main political parties starting from the PDP do rig elections? Are you aware of the shameful Maurice Iwu era when he conducted the then general elections? Pls, ask the elders around if you're too young. |

We don't want the 2 of them...... We need someone who can deliver Young with touch of current global Trend Someone who will uphold true democracy Who is for the people and not for selected people who would see him as lord We need fresh experience not all this recycled ideas with trial and error. |

gidgiddy: So with that kind of mentality, you expect the west to sit down and fold our arms like cowards? That sounds more like a failure. Giving up without a fight! The west have done it before during the time of Abiola, and same can be done again. The other southern parts can continue with that kind of wrap mentality, that's not for the west! |

Re: Between Atiku (PDP) And Tinubu (APC): Who Do You Think Is Most Likely To Win by Nobody: 10:40pm On Dec 09, 2020 |
Bodexman:You completely don't understand the political permutations of winning election in Nigeria. North is more united with three zones compared to the south whose three zones look like three countries. One can't win election in only one region but 25% votes have to cut across all zones or atleast 4/6 of the zones; this formula has reason and the reason is to avoid winning election based on ethno-religious sentiment. Overlooking Northern political power and sagacity is a political suicide. If North decide to retain power for many decades, North have many permutations that if inserted into political atmosphere of Nigeria definitely it'll work but for the sake of peace and regional balance power ought to rotate. Don't ever tempt some gullibles to commit that political suicide of ignoring the power of Northern influence in the political landscape of Nigeria. North! |

gidgiddy: You keep making the same mistake in your fixed postulation about presidential election. Yoruba is an ethnic group. 'Northerners' is just an appellation that group hundreds of ethnic groups together. It would have made sense if you had said if Fulani voters will vote for a Yoruba candidate ahead of a fellow Fulani candidate. There are many tribes in the North that won't vote for another Fulani candidate to succeed Buhari, a very nepotic Fulani leader. 1 Like |
