This is a report that will assist Nigerians and the government

Why drag Journalist into this? They are called all sort of names and brutalised for exposing a corrupt system. What is your profession? Is it a honorable one, that is for the good of humanity.

So, they shouldn't talk of the environmental pollution going on in the Niger Delta and its effect. If the report had anything to do with the SW, you would have been acting like an animal, on the Internet but since its another regions issue it shouldn't make the news. BIAS DOUBLE-STANDARD ANIMAL.

For those of us that didn’t watch; please, what are the names of these employees of the Anglo-Dutch oil company Shell that ordered the deliberate vandalism of oil pipelines for personal gain?
Re: Nigeria Shell Employees Causing Oil Leaks For Profit - Dutch TV by Litmus: 4:12pm On Dec 10, 2020
Shell does not want to compensate Nigerian Delta Communities for damaging their environment. Hope those of you that are Nigerian read the comments so far and begin to see why you need to question the actual Nationalities of many that set you at each others throats, exploiting ethnicity, religion and now your leadership in every facet of your society.

According to Shell, 95% of the leaks are a result of sabotage. The oil company denies any responsibility for these. The perpetrators of these leaks are said to be local criminals and organized gangs. Now, Shell employees themselves are accused of being a part of a perverse industry of deliberate leakage. Zembla verified all of this and interviewed the sources on camera.

Shell owes Delta communities Billions of dollars compensation, not Millions, for decades of environmental damage ...

We blame militants when professionals are the real culprit
Let me tell you, it is those militants boys that's responsible not the shell workers, the things is, those militants boys come with sub machines guns, dynamite, bombs and other explosives to vandalize pipes in those jetties, if you refuse they will kill you, destroy the place with dynamite and nothing will happen, Nigerian government will not compensate the family or get justice for you, you will die for nothing. The company will just settle your family with the benefits nothing else.
The workers cooperate in other to avoid being murdered for nothing, Nigerian soldiers cooperate too, police cooperate too, some militants will trace you to your house and kill you nothing will happen.
If you carry Nigeria for head, you will die and nothing will happen.

And Buhari in his meeting with the governors talked about doubling down security for pipelines not knowing that they’re being sabotaged by the employees themselves. Of course they couldn’t have done it without settling security operatives.

All concerned and Nigerian stakeholders for the betterment of environment and compensating relevant afflicted communities need to go after Shell and never let them or their online agents distract you from holding them accountable. Don’t let them slip away from their responsibility by playing on your love for pointing accusing fingers at one another. Forget “militants” (even if they do break pipelines), forget these mysterious “Nigerian employees” go after Shell!

Use your heads.

There's a man I know living close to my house, a family friend, he works in a oil company in Nigeria, this man is a trained /certified safety officer's that usually reports and expose milliants boys that come to vandalized oil pipeline, some soldiers were regular perpetuators of vandalized pipes in the jetty, what those militants boys did was to throw dynamite in the jetty because of the man, because he had been hindering their operations. he died, his body turned to ashes, federal government didn't compensate his family, only little benefit from his contributions in the company was given to him, he got no justice till today.
The explosion of the jetty, became a national issue in Nigeria, some workers profit from the deals, a day you get like 1.2 million naira for allowing vandalized pipes because if you don't those militants boys will kill you or trace you to your house and kill you.
This is a real life story, I would have told you his name and the oil company but for security reasons it will be withheld.

Wtf! If this is true, then it's a damning report. Unfortunately, the Nigerian government is just so riddled with incompetence that they'll never get to the bottom of this, nor act on it. This is just sad on so many levels.

The country called Naija is a mess. The mess is widespread.

What of communities that purposely cause spill in order to claim oil spill money. They abound in the Niger Delta.

Some not impacted by oil spill will even go and be packing oil to stain their area, in order to benefit from oil spill settlement.

Oil spills in Nigeria have a decades-long history, making companies like Shell, whose headquarters is based in the Netherlands, a frequent target of criticism and protest from human rights and environmental groups.

Millions of litres of oil have leaked into the Niger Delta since Shell began oil extraction there in 1958. Zembla said the “greatest oil disaster in the world is unfolding in the Niger Delta”.

Shell says that 95 percent of leaks are as a result of sabotage. It denies responsibility for the leaks, which it blames on local criminals and organised gangs.

Shell Nigeria was asked to pay damages running into Billions, by the Court.
Shell Nigeria has Appealed this Court decision to the highest level, even to foreign courts and they all said Shell is liable and should pay-up.

So, should it surprise anyone that Shell Nigeria can cook-up a documentary, solicit some poor Nigerians like Security Guards, with small-money (in a land where poverty is so rife and just $2000 can turn you to Millionaire in Nigeria grin ) and then try to turn its Evil Corporate behaviour on the same community that they have exploited for decades?
Is it also Shell Nigerian workers that is causing all the Gas flaring that Shell Nigeria has been flaring since 1960 or does it also flare Gas from Oil exploration it does in the Netherlands?
How many times have Govt asked Shell Nigeria to stop gas flaring and it has refused
?

If you believe this Shell story, you can believe anything.

Even if woken from sleep I will believe this accusation without resistance. Nigerians are the very cause of Nigerian problems. It won’t surprise me if our people aided the events of colonialism in the country.

According to TV documentary, Nigerian employees of Shell company deliberately vandalized oil pipelines for personal gains.

I disagree.
Why?
Shell oil company in Nigeria has no credibility when it comes to the way shell company officials view Nigerians. And it has long history of making false claims for their own profits.

David smith is a reporter for the Guardian newspaper. In Oct.2, 2011 article title “Shell accused of fueling violence in Nigeria by paying rival militant gangs” reporter Smith said “Shell has fueled armed conflict in Nigeria by paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to feuding militant groups, according to an investigation by the oil industry watchdog Platform, and a coalition of non-government organizations.”

This article further added “In Counting the Cost: Corporations and Human Rights in the Niger Delta, Platform says that it has seen testimony and contracts that implicate Shell in the regular awarding of lucrative contracts to militants. In one case last year, Shell is said to have transferred more than $159,000 (£102,000) to a group credibly linked to militia violence” -- One gang member, Chukwu Azikwe, said.

So, read the above investigative report and decide for yourself as to who is telling the truth in ongoing violence against residents of oil communities in Nigeria.

Shell oil company in Nigeria cannot be trusted.

Typical white suprematist tactics:

Loot and destroy and when the pushback comes, repackage the truth, blame everything on the black man and walk away clean from the situation!!

The european owners of Shell know that importance of oil will be massively reduced by 2030 so it’s time for them to wash their hands clean of the massive corruption, death and pollution they’ve caused in the delta for decades. Of course they have to re-write the story that the Blackman created the oil spills, smh.

Eh, yes, and we sometimes blame these foreign companies like Shell, expecting them to compensate communities blighted by their oil drilling activities to the sum of millions when it should be billions, not knowing that, all this times , they owe the communities nothing , since Nigerians are to blame.

This reminds me of how Africans blamed Apartheid South Africa for the deaths of Soweto school children, when all this time, it wasn’t apartheid south Africa police’s fault; no, the white police officers simply would fire their guns in warning but the black children would go throw themselves in the way of the bullets.

Gush, Africans always blaming others for their problems.

And to think some idiots gave this vomit "likes"....
