U.S. ELECTION 2020: Voter Fraud—fact Or Fiction by mediaprizm: 10:49am On Dec 10, 2020
President Donald Trump's continuous assertion that 'he has won the legal votes' has weakened the integrity of the election. Though, his legal team is yet to provide evidence to substantiate his claims.

President-elect Joe Biden defeated the incumbent with 306 electoral college votes in comparison to Trump's 232. He also won almost 6 million more popular votes. The whole election process was broadcasted live on California news stations.

However, President Trump has won the election in his mind. His legal team filed multiple lawsuits to probe alleged voter fraud in states of Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Nevada.

U.S. Attorney-general William Barr: To date, no evidence of consequential voter fraud

William Barr on Tuesday remarked: "The U.S. Department of Justice has not uncovered any evidence of voter fraud on such a scale that could change the outcome of the election." Despite being one of the top allies of President Trump, he declined any possibility of large scale fraud and irregularities in the election.

"There is an assertion that machines were systematically programmed to count more votes for Biden," he said in an interview to the Associated Press, further added: "And after investigation, we have not found anything to back such claims."

Earlier, Christopher Krebs—Director of Cybersecurity Agency—also declared the election transparent. "Election 2020 is the most secure election in history," he said, however, this statement got him fired!

President Trump Won't Concede!

On Wednesday, President Trump released a 46-minute video and repeated the allegations of voter fraud and rigging again. He said that he's fighting for all Americans and for their faith in democracy.

The conspiracy theorists of voter fraud are not new to United States politics; however, this hysteria has got louder since Election 2016.

Republicans, Mr. Trump, in particular, have expressed their concerns on voting system fraud, including hackable machines, enrollment of outside voters, tampering of mail-in-ballots.

Look at the following statements:

2012
"It doesn't who you vote for—it matters who's counting the votes—Be careful of voter fraud!" Trump tweeted on October 10, 2012.

2016
"Voter fraud is all too common, and then they say: There is no voter fraud in our country," said Trump in his election campaign.

2017
"What's going on with voter fraud is horrible," said in an interview to ABC News.

2020
"The only way we lose the election is when the election is rigged."

2020
"It's not singular voter fraud. The patterns are exactly the same, and they are executed through a centralized place," said Rudy Giuliani, President Trump's attorney.

In A Nutshell:

Voter fraud is a big fuss! Several research and investigations have been initiated in this regard.

Lorrain Minnite, the author of "The Myth Of Voter Fraud" (2010), carried out in-depth research. She concluded that voter fraud is rare, and history records few instances of fraud that is unlikely to affect the results. In the President Bush Administration, the DOJ started a crackdown against accused fraudsters, but not more than 90 people were found involved in such crimes.

Voter fraud is more of a political sentiment that is discussed during the presidential election. These discussions have soared recently. As a result, the people of the U.S.A. suspect the credibility of the election, and there are far-reaching impacts.

However, foreign intervention into the election is a bigger problem. There is quite a lot of evidence that Russia interfered in the 2016 election, and used social media tools to stir up hate for Hillary Clinton. Recently, Intelligence officials suspect that Iran also acquired voters’ information and targeted them through Emails of voter fraud.

The United States is the strongest democracy in the world. And there are quite a many foes willing to subvert this strength. Now, it is our duty to keep faith in the electoral system and to avoid misinformation.
