251 ruppee gives $3.4. convert the dollar to Naira you get above N1,200( official exchange as at 14/12/2020). Using black market rate of $1 to N475, you get N1, 425. Therefore 50 gig worth of data is valued at $3.40 or N1,475. This is higher than the selling price of 50 gig over here. What could be responsible for such high rates?
1. Inflation 2. Government restrictions 3. poor infrastructures 4. Protection of some infant ISP.
5. High/ multi taxes 6. Lack of power supply

everyone in Nigeria is greedy we need more competition on market place that's how the price of Sim card was reduced from 30k to 100naira so if we have more competition ready market and if government separate voice call from data usage making data company a different market place of its own then it will come down

How can you see all Nigerians are greedy? Not all Nigerians are or are you greedy? It is not as if there is no competition, other smaller firms in the market may not compete favourably with the major tech giants. Havent you wonder why their network are restricted in major cities or towns?

Almost all Nigerians are greedy , flamboyant, pompous and self inflated mediocrities.Nigeria would be a better country if just ten percent of the population are normal.India a mostly pagan country fights corruption and genuinely aims for excellence.Nigeria and India unfortunately are not really mates whatever indices are taken into consideration

The issue is competition.

I once read that there is a telecom company in India with very cheap services. So to keep up, airtel has to offer cheap services as well.

But in naija, NCC is the problem.

I remember when Glo was offering mouth watering services until NCC came with their magomago policies.

NCC did that to protect small data service providers
