In an exclusive report gleaned by The Cable, the Rector of Ede Polytechnic, John Adekolawole has been suspended as the academic institution’s rector for installing a large bed in his office.
The decision was disclosed at an emergency congress of the union by the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) in the institution, Adekunle Masopa.
Speaking at the congress, the chairman said:
“The following are some of the reasons adduced for the action: one, flagrant dereliction of duty by absconding from office for about a month.
Two, the desecration of the highly respected office of the rector with the creation of a bedroom furnished with a king-size bed which has made it possible for him to be sleeping at work.”
