As the year closes out gradually, individuals and organizations have kick started an approach to reaching its society. Recently one of Nigerians finest senior nurse who is based in the United Kingdom Mrs. Nwando Oyeagwalam, deemed it fit to be an extension of blessing to the people of her community Ndiokpaleze, in Anambra State Nigeria.
In line with the International Human Rights Day, COMAREG HealthCare Foundation in partnership with National Human Rights Commission (Anambra State) presented a seminar on Health & Safety Awareness 2020 with a theme, “Safeguarding Your Health, Safety & Well Being in the 21st Century”
COMAREG HealthCare Foundation is a non-governmental organization formed on the basis of taking health care delivery to the grassroots by creating awareness and preventing some health condition which are prevalent in the community. It is born out of passion for health care delivery involving both preventive and curative measures. The foundation is in memory of Late Sir Reginald Okoli & Lady Comfort Okoli who dedicated their lives in service to humanity with vision to make sure that local communities beginning from Ndiokpalaeze and its neighboring community can achieve and maintain good health, well being, be able to care for themselves and each other.
The program awareness seminar featured talks and interactive sessions on cervical, breast, prostrate cancer awareness, reproductive health rights, domestic violence and child abuse as well as women and child rights. Free cervical cancer screening test and family planning was conducted for the first 30 persons. The program attracted respected dignitaries, and individuals representing various media organization. The event featured a speech from His Royal Highness, Eze Fredrick Chidozie Okoli, Okweze the IV of Ndiokpaleze town. During his address he called his faithfuls to embrace peace and unity amongst themselves. Okweze the IV in his statement said “ … I am excited to see so many persons who deemed it fit to be a part of this program living behind their jobs, works, and daily commitments, and to be part of this wonderful ideology pulled together by our industrious daughter and sister. If staying alive wasn’t important and beneficial to us, I would not have approved of it, but every soul of ndiokpalaeze means so much to me, this is why I am happy to be a part of it”. He promised the community that in the coming year he will partner with projects that will distinguish his community and benefit its people amongst others. As the professional resource persons make delivery of their lectures in the local language, participants were also invited to carry out a free cervical screening and other body checks. Truly, life they say is sweet if, we all can be our brother’s keeper.
