Dude, why are you dishing out this misleading info so fervently like this? All the applicant needs to do is to submit a webform with a letter of explanation and a new IMM 1294e. There's definitely no need to withdraw the application.
As in, i just dey laugh as e dey dish the garbage out with confidence. God will help those who need help o. Everybody na immigration officer for here.

Mr. @Uzomachukwu and Mr. @RELAN2446, we are very much aware of a very recent case where an applicant made this mistake, and their lawyer immediately contacted the Nairobi Visa Office to correct the mistake. They still sent a procedural fairness letter to the applicant and banned the applicant. It took an application to Federal Court in Canada to have the ban reversed. The cost was over $3k. There has been increasing attempt by the VO to use this mistake to ban applicants. So, you can go ahead with your insults and disparaging remarks. Nobody is obligated to take any suggestion here. But please learn to treat other views with some measure of respect.

###### LONG POST ALERT ######

It’s Testimony Time

Guys, I wish to share my success story in order to encourage others who have been delayed. First of all, I thank Mr. Frankrobbn1, Mr. JustMellow, Mr. Lekiboboe, and other contributors for their selfless services here. I also appreciate some people who have been trying to answer questions in the absence of the gurus, but most times your answers are wrong and misleading.

Secondly, I like to thank Mr. Frankrobbn1 again because he made efforts to ensure I get approved this time, after 2 previous attempts. He is truly a guru. From the choice of course, to choosing the University, including review of LOE & IMM forms, with covering all possible refusal technicalities in my LOE. I appreciate your help, Mr. Frankrobbn1, Almighty Allah will bless you.

1st Application - Online (Did it myself)

- Course: Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting.
- School: University of Lethbridge, Alberta
- Sponsorship: Self
- Application submitted – October 9, 2019
- Application refused – November 6, 2019
- Refusal reasons: Family ties and Employment situation

2nd Application - Online (Done by a Canadian Immigration Lawyer)

- Course: Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting.
- School: University of Lethbridge, Alberta
- Sponsorship: Self
- Application submitted – November 29, 2019
- Application refused – January 28, 2020
- Refusal reasons: Family ties and Purpose of visit
- GCMS Notes: No evidence on file of PA’s acceptance to Master of Accounting as stated (VO made a mistake here and we pointed it out in the new LOE), and the Applicant’s plans of study appear vague and poorly documented.

3rd (Approved) Application - Online (With all NSE documents)

- Course changed to: Master of Management – International Accounting & Finance
- School changed to: University of Windsor, Ontario
- Sponsorship: Self
- Intake: September 2021, but was changed to May 2021 while my application was in progress
- Application submitted – February 10, 2021
- Submission confirmation – February 10, 2021
- Upfront medical approved – February 16, 2021
- Eligibility review started – February 17, 2021
- Ghost update 1 – February 24, 2021
- Ghost update 2 – February 26, 2021
- Ghost update 3 – March 3, 2021 (GCMS shows that LOA was confirmed this date)
- New LOA for May 2021 – March 19, 2021, sent via IRCC & Kenya Webforms March 20
- Follow-up emails – Started March 22, 2021, twice a week to Kenya, later to London, and Beijing.
- Email acknowledgement – Received once only from Kenya on March 22 with application still in process. I realized there are 2 types of acknowledgements: (1) Active review: if you receive this, then your application is not almost finalized yet, (2) In process: this means your application is in advanced stage.
- Ordered GCMS notes (through a colleague in Canada, I think it’s faster this way) – March 31, 2021
- PPR & BVL Received – April 12, 2021
- Passport received by VFS Abuja – April 15, 2021
- Passport stamped and Counterfoil received – April 15, 2021
- UPS picked up passport – April 15, 2021
- LOI received – April 16, 2021
- UPS delivered passport – April 19, 2021
- GCMS received – April 19, 2021
- Application Visa Office: Nairobi Primary & Windsor Secondary, but application was finalized by Lagos. PPR & LOI came from Lagos.

Lessons learnt:
(1) Career progression is very important,
(2) Significance of fund and its accessibility cannot be over emphasized,
(3) Home ties carry heavy weight, especially family/economic/volunteering, etc
(4) Travel history is an added advantage for matured students like me (40+), Lagos VO acknowledged this in the GCMS notes.

- Pension RSA Statement with reasonable balance
- Investment letter in my wife’s name
- Documents for Residential Properties with Valuation reports and proof of rental Income

(3) All the 3 IRCC Forms (Well reviewed by Mr. Frank)

Parting notes
(1) Prospective applicants must be patient
(2) Do not disturb IRCC office if your application has not exceeded processing time or your resumption date is not approaching or your tuition payment deadline is not due soon
(3) It seems Airlines from India & Pakistan aren’t allowed to enter Canada now, so IRCC may shift attention to the Applications from Nigeria, please get set for your good news
(4) Endeavour to go the way of NSE
(5) I feel sad when I read negative comments about Nigeria here, please let’s stop it. It will come to haunt you or other Nigerians. Every country has her challenges, please let’s speak well of our country

BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE AWAITING GOOD NEWS

Congrats

Hello everyone

I just realized one should also mention previous refusal in other countries in one’s new application,
Although, I mentioned the refusal I had in Canada but didn’t know I should mention the one I had in US in my new application too,

1. is there a way I can address this mistake to IRCC?
2. Do I need to wait for their response first before addressing it to them?
3. How severe can this mistake affect my application?

I re-applied in early March without NSE documents and no upfront medical, no update yet though

Please see below how Pinkey2021's was able to address a similar issue.

You can do a letter of explanation and refill that imm form. Merge both documents ( both letter of explanation and IMM form) then submit via webform.
That should settle it as long as you are the one bringing it to their notice and submitting the correct information as a replacement to the initial one submitted before they detect it themselves.

All the best.

Who is insulting and disparaging who? That ain't my MO, man. Meanwhile, why use the inclusive "we" subject in your opening sentence here? Who are the "we" that are much aware of this incident you just mentioned? I am certain that am not included in your "we," as I do not know of the case you're citing, and will be glad if you could locate that applicant's post here on Nairaland and quote it for all of us to read again.

Moreover, even as you're mentioning it here for the first time now, you do not really know what went down in that application, nor do you know what the said immigration lawyer included or left out in their explanation to IRCC (unless you were the lawyer in question), just as you did not say at what point in time they had contacted IRCC (as soon as the mistake was discovered, less than three weeks after the application was submitted, or just very close to the finalizing of the application, in which case the procedural fairness letter must already have been underway before their webform clocked even a week and ready to be acknowledged by IRCC).

At the same time, do not think you have full information about the nature and depth of the error or number of errors the applicant you cited committed in their application. But as to the error of the nature being talked about here yesterday, I can definitely say that a very convincing explanation letter and a new IMM 1294e form sent through a webform earlier in time will be enough to take care of the problem. Yet, the outcome will partly depend too on how many other obvious "lies" the applicant told in their application (once = perhaps a mistake; twice = surely intentional).

All you need do is send a letter of explanation via webform and to the necessary emails of the different countries.

That is the way, no need withdrawing your application.

Hello House,

Please I wanna round up my study permit application today. Is it wrong to include my sibling’s passports that have already expired in my application. Cause I’m thinking of using that instead of birth certificates ?

Yes. The other way is to wait for a s.40 procedural fairness letter from IRCC, followed by a 5yrs ban.

Also, alerting the other embassies through email, he would get an acknowledgement from one or two of them.

His profile will likewise be update with the new information.

Someone here was in a similar situation and resolved it without application withdrawal.

Congratulations!

I'm congratulating you in advance. It's about to end in praise.
