So close, but yet so far

really very sad.

When you evaluate the job done by some electricians, you feel sorry for home owners. I am not an electrician but i work extensively with electricians, I oversaw the electrical works in my dads house in the hinterland. All the electrical materials i bought were top notch.

No local electrician allowed.

Very beautiful woman with cute kids......This is really sad.......Even if the fire brigade was to arrive earlier Lagos traffic won't let it........was there no fire extinguisher in the house?.......No adults available?........so many questions on my mind.......very horrible way to die.......may God rest their souls........ we must learn to apply safety measures the much we can.......This really messed up my mind.

A medical doctor Ijeoma Idaresit and her daughters have died in a fire accident at their home in Parkview, Ikoyi, Lagos, Igbere TV reports.

Fire broke out in the house on December 13 following an electrical fault.

Idaresit was until her death the conference director at Postpartum Support Network Africa.

A friend of the deceased Olatoun Gabi-Williams, in a tribute posted on Facebook, alleged that the Lagos State Fire Service arrived late.

He wrote,

However, a spokesman for the Lagos State Fire Service Ahmodu Shakiru said the fire service could not be blamed for the incident.

He said: “That is the usual accusation, but the point is that we are not yet operating digital so, we rely on public information and time of response is a factor of many things from who discovered the emergency and what action was taken and what time the alarm is raised.”

What is the Fire service taking about? There is a station within Park View! ETA should have been 5 mins max. If the wealthy cannot protect themselves by giving the Fore service support, what is the hope of the common man?

My heart aches. Such beautiful souls wasted because of incompetent and inefficient fire service. Just look at their foolish and senseless excuse with a touch of sarcasm and insensitivity. If this is what people complain about your late arrival, then improve on it.

I think it's now vital for the Lagos State government to acquire helicopter for fire service operations as seen in developed countries. This incident is so painful. May God have mercy on us
