A Young Woman in Enugu Who Went for A Visit killed by ritualists (Photos)


It was shocking when the news of what befell a young woman was revealed a few hours ago. The young woman (in the photos below), identified as Egbe Ogocukwu Rita, resides at Uwelu-Ibeku in Opi Town, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State. She was reported missing a few days ago by a member of the community, Engineer Nnabuike who posted a message on social media about a missing woman in the community.


Days after the post, the corpse of the young woman, with multiple stab wounds and some of her pubic hair removed, was found at a neighbouring village, Amukpa Ogbozala, Opi. Findings of the shocking discovery revealed that the deceased, Rita had gone for a condolence visit in the neighbouring village three days ago. When she did not return, that was when a search began and a report was posted online.

According to the eyewitnesses who discovered the corpse, the murder may be in connection with ritual purposes. This is sad as security in the country remains worrisome.
