The House of Representatives has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to provide and release N3 billion for the take off of local production of firearms and ammunition through collaboration between the Defence Industries Corporation (DICON) and National Metallurgical Development Center (NMDC).Good Our local ammunitions will go a long way in fighting insecurity and bandit menace in our nation. Imagine “magun” (thunderbolt) which is a local ammunition is placed on the chibok and dapchi girls, all the abductors raping them would have been killed by now. We won’t have to clamor for “Bring Back Our Girls”, cos our girls would have come home by themselves. Another scenario, Imagine all boarding school students in the north having “Afeeri” (invisible/disappearing charm), a local weapon, when the bandits or Boko Haram visiting their schools, they will all just disappear and no student will be kidnapped 31 Likes 2 Shares |

Finally they can produce for Boko haram and Fulani bandits. It's good to produce locally but Nigeria is too corrupt. They'll use it to empower terrorists 26 Likes |

Necessity is the mother of invention, 3 Billion is too small for such revolution, however a stitch in time saves nine. These small indigenous made fire arms will surely sure up our internal defense against rebels & wailers. 1 Like |

Nice one but they should also look at creating policies that will make sure this local production of arm will not encourage political violence , increase arms with bandit and boko Haram and other negative vices Just imaging boko Haram/bandit attacking the production facility or Endsars violence attacking/looting the production facility.
