The Deputy Chairman Communications Committee in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Rep. Unyime Idem, will on Tuesday December 22, 2020, commission 1000-Seater-capacity skills Acquisition Center at Ukanafun and 14 other development projects. He will also empower 1000 youths from Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency.

The event which forms part of Rep. Idem’s constituency briefing is scheduled to hold at the Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Empowerment Centre, No. 3 Barracks Road, Beside Divisional Police Station, Ukanafun LGA by 10.00am Prompt.

The other projects slated for commissioning include, 4 nos digital e-learning centres each equipped with 40 set of computers, full compliment of VSAT wireless internet facility, and other e-resources, class room blocks, among others.

Recall that as part of the campaign, Rep Idem pledged to sustain the current peace His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State graciously brought to Ukanafun LGA, after three years of crisis. He also promised to train and empower 5,000 constituents with seed capital and tools to start a life of their own. Majority of the beneficiaries are those who were displaced as a result of the crisis and the youths who laid down their arms. It is in fulfillment of that campaign promise that the Usung Atiat born lawmaker has selected the first batch of 1000 of his constituents to be empowered in 26 different skills.

According to information released by the Chairman Ad-hoc Committee investigating non-implementation of Pay as You Go by DSTV and other Cable TV service providers in Nigeria, the remaining 4,000 beneficiaries will be empowered as follows: December 2021 – 1500, December 2022 – 1500, December 2023 – 1000.

The information also stated that the empowerment is Rep. Idem’s own contribution of raising the next generation of business leaders, reduce unemployment and youth restiveness.

Consequently, the Political Class, Elders, Stakeholders, Constituents from Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and invited guests are hereby requested to witness the mother of all empowerment and projects commissioning.

Attendees are advised to come along with their face masks as strict COVID-19 protocols will be observed in line with the NCDC guidelines.

I read all through this post and couldn't place if the pictures shown was the 1000 seater which obviously wouldn't be.

I know PR is not for everybody...
...but it would be wise if the most elaborate project is highlighted for publicity, than using a 1000 seater headline and showing us a small room of 40 seats.
