How to link phone number/Sim card with NIN(MTN,Air tel,Glo and 9mobile)-Deadline extended.

The deadline for connecting/registering NIN with phone number for all network subscribers which was initially 30th of December,2020 has been Changed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

This change was made after the NCC have been condemned by Nigerians and several other bodies,complaining that the deadline was too close and that it is impossible for the directive issued to be carried within the short period of time,which was 2 weeks(from 16th of December to 30th of December).

The new Deadline for linking of NIN to phone Number are:

For subscribers with NIN: Deadline extended to 3 weeks(from 30th of December to 19th of january,2021)

For subscribers without NIN: Deadline extended to 6 weeks(from 30th of December to 9th of February 2021)

How to link your NIN with your MTN phoneNumber.

To link your NIN with your MTN phone number online kindly follow the steps below:

You will be requested to fill the fields with your names,phone number,NIN and email(not compulsory)
Complete The form and submit
OR
You can also link your phone number with NIN through USSD code. To do that,follow the steps below:
Dial *785#
Enter your NIN and press "send"

How to link your NIN with your Airtel phone Number

Visit https://www.airtel.com.ng/nin
Enter your phone number
You will be sent an otp for verification
Enter the otp and your NIN.
Then submit
OR
You can also link your phone number with
NIN through USSD code.
Dial *121#
Reply 1 and press "send"
Reply 1 again and send to enter your NIN
Enter your 11-digit NIN and send.

How to link your NIN with your Glo phone Number.

Send "UPDATENIN,NIN,FirstName,LastName"

How to link your NIN with your 9mobile phone Number.

Verify and submit your NIN.
OR
Dial *200*8#
Reply option 2(Enter your 11 digit NIN) and press "send"
Reply by dialing"1*YOUR 11-DIGIT NIN#"

Wait for a notification SMS confirming your successful submission.if you don't receive the sms within some minutes try again.
