CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, APGA

HELP IS ON THE WAY

This Christmas season comes at a time our nation is reeling from uncertainty, misery, pain, and, surprisingly, joy too.

Despite the social, economic and political challenges facing our nation, we still have every reason to be grateful to God, at least, for keeping us alive and united to face these unabating challenges.

The high death rate, economic crunch, and ravaging poverty caused by COVID-19 have all combined to make the outgoing year a bag of mixed feeling for many Nigerians.

Despite these unfortunate challenges, we are optimistic that the coming year will be fruitful, peaceful and progressive for Nigerians as we hope that the efforts made in the past five years to take Nigeria to the ' real next level' will begin to produce positive results.

We urge the federal government to factor the sufferings of the people of Nigeria into whatever programmes it has planned for 2021 as anything outside of this will increase their hardship.

The federal government owes the people of Nigeria adequate security; more amenities such as steady electricity, potable water, and medicare; more food; quality education; and general atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Nothing more, nothing less.

We urge all Nigerians to remain steadfast in prayer and patriotic service to our nation, while hoping for the best in the incoming year.

We single out the administration of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State for special commendation for the able way it has piloted the affairs of the state, especially in the areas of security, agriculture, education, general infrastructure and regular payment of workers' salaries and leave allowances, pensions and gratuities.

We also commend him for the ongoing legacy projects such as the International Cargo Airport, 10,000-seater International Conference Centre and the Awka International Stadium; praying God to bless and keep him.

We pray God to grant our leaders greater courage and altruism to work for the good of the people.

We wish all Nigerians, particularly our teeming members in Nigeria and abroad, a fruitful Christmas and happy new year.
