The Rural Health Scheme otherwise known as Mobile Clinic to be lunched by the Federal House Member representing Ahiazu/Ezinihitte has became a point of discussion in churches, newspaper stands, market places and local meetings(Anwuru anwu), the reason is not farfetched, this is the first of this kind not only in Ahiazu/Ezinihitte but in Imo State.

In a press release by his media assistant; Nnamdi Ukasanya, The two Mobile Clinics are to be stationed at two different locations namely Chief Alilionu Plaza, Afor Oru, with (09062000443) as dedicated call digits for all residents of Ahiazu LGA; and Aboh Mbaise/Ezinihitte Junction with (09062000456) as dedicated call digits, for all residents of Ezinihitte LGA.

According to him, the Mobile Clinics are expected to operate between the hours of 9am to 5pm, Mondays through Friday, and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays.

Ukasanya went further to enlist the following as services to be provided:
Emergency evacuation of Patients to Hospitals, Adminstration of First Aide to the Sick and the Injured and Medical Counselling"

The mobile clinic that is located different places in both local government is intended to respond to the basic health requirements of the people more especially pregnant women that needs to be rushed to the hospital and other emergency cases.

It is evident that many deaths have occurred in our rural areas due to inability to obtain mobility on emergency cases to take them to hospital on time. This is intended to remedy the ugly situation.

During the electionary period, Hon Emeka Chinedu unveiled his manifesto but the one that activated my adrenaline was the mobile clinic due to I have heard and seen people who lost love ones in the rural/Urban areas due to inability to rush them to the hospital on time.

Despite several of his achievements since emergence, ranging from solar lights, provision of public toilets in market places, boreholes and securing the approval of some roads and training of youths in agricultural programs, I felt not much satisfied like the mobile clinic because as a member of PDP Campaign Council (2019 election) we moved from one place to the other showing them what a mobile clinic looks like but today it no longer a litmus test but a reality.

It is pertinent to set that mobile clinic is an expensive venture, very costly to maintain, requires proactive workers and a excellent/ easily accessible communication channel, therefore i pray and hope the tempo will be sustained against all odds.

Without overlabouring the obvious, the mobile clinic is a promise made and a promise fulfilled.
