The first COVID-19 vaccines were administered at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune.
In keeping with Department of Defense guidance, frontline health care workers were vaccinated first.
First responders such as paramedics, police officers, and firefighters attached to Marine Corps Installations East will be vaccinated over the coming days.
The vaccine is not mandatory, but DoD medical personnel are highly encouraged to receive the vaccine to protect their health and the health of our beneficiaries and community.
NMCCL will continue to follow the distribution plan as set forth by the DoD as more shipments of the vaccine arrive.
When it is time for high-risk beneficiaries and then the healthy population to receive their vaccine, NMCCL will notify our beneficiaries of process and procedures.
