Glad you gave examples of police violations in the U.S. you know about them because the police were held accountable. Breana Taylor's family are millionaires now which will never compensate for a life loss.
Remind me again what compensations Nigerians get for police brutality? If any. I'm waiting for your response sir.

So it's now about compensation not about punishment for the killers. Because her killers are still walking free on the streets. And the only reason they got paid is simply because it's a high profile case, many many others have been killed without the family getting a penny.

Going by your logic, once the family of those killed are paid then it's all good. Wow, what a logic.

Have a nice day, bye.

Jesus do I have to spell everything. For there to be compensation there has to be an admission of guilt. Why am I explaining this? Smh....

The comments here generally show people who just went to school and have very little understanding of how a modern society works.

How can an educated person be defending soldiers forcefully shaving a man's head! We have departed military regime 21 yrs ago yet our people still are incredibly ignorant of civil and human rights.

For your information, admission of guilt in a civil case in not an admission of guilt in criminality. That's what we are talking about here today.
I bet you that the families of those killed don't feel compensated enough by money, they rather have their loved ones with alive than dead.

Most are not compensated anyway, Breanna Taylor's case is an exception than the rule.

I think most of earliest comments on any topic on nairaland are the most shallow and unintelligent and immature.

Lol...I beg read up on the issue before posting next time.

In Breanna case, there is no criminal case, the AG refuse to indict the officers involved.
I beg stop commenting on issue of which you don't have the facts. The city decided to pay the family due to a wrongful death law suit brought by the family. That has nothing to do with the criminal case.

People are still protesting for criminal charges to be brought up against the officers. That's the fact.

You have no understanding of basic human rights. You are supporting the same abuse of power for which many Nigerian politicians and tyrants are culpable.

If it's okay to forcibly cut a man's hair because you are against dreads, can you fault those that want soldiers to forcibly dye your hair pink because they think it's the best colour?

They are charged for charged for wanton endangerment. Which is a felony. Which means the only place they will ever get a job is at Walmart. If that.. Plus her family was paid millions. In your country, what would happen? Protesters were mowed down in the dozens by the police at leki. What happened? And yet you'll open to criticize another country. How does that make sense? I know ot doesn't but you'll try and make sense of it.

Once you lost the argument then it's time to change the narrative. I know your type.
Done wasting my time educating you.

One more fact-

Like I said you are very ignorant of the facts. Only one officer was charged with that and it's not related to killing Breanna, it's for endangerment of the neighbor.
I beg get of my post and go to bed. Let me enjoy my afternoon football games.

Didn't you see that dread? I'm in full support of what they did to him.
And so? His hairstyle is his own business, and it is not affecting anyone. His hair, his choice. It is his right to wear any hairstyle he likes. To infringe upon his right because you don't like his hairstyle is a totalitarian and tyrannical way of thinking; the very thing Nigeria politicians and dictators are accused of.

What is the use of human rights if one cannot do or say what pleases him/her as long as it doesn't harm others even though others disagree and are offended? The same way you justify this abuse of human rights is the same way Islamic authorities justify the debasement of human rights under the sharia because they believe it is for a just and divine cause. The same way you see nothing wrong in the way the soldiers abused the young man is the way many dictators and tyrants see nothing wrong in their actions.

You have to grow up and learn that your fellow men and women have rights that enable them say and do things they like as far it doesn't harm others and irrespective of who disagrees or get offended. The same applies to you. You enjoy your rights, why can't others enjoy theirs? Rights don't cease to exist because you disagree or you are offended. Believe me, you don't want to be at the receiving end of the abuse you are fostering. Imagine if a group of soldiers and citizens forcibly dyed your hair pink because they like it the same way you like the "decent" hair cut the soldiers gave that guy. What will you use in court to stop such abuse and defend yourself? The same rights the soldiers denied that young man.

If he were my son I would do the same.
Is he the son of the soldiers? If your son still lives in your house, no problem. Just give the order for him to cut it off instead of treating him the way the soldiers treated that young man.
