Nigeria Vs Cote d’Ivoire: Golden Eaglets Cry Foul Over MRI Test

Nigeria Faces MRI Test Hurdle As 13 Players Set To Conduct MRI Test On Match-day Against Ivory Coast

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets may have to overcome football politics before they can be able to pick the semifinal ticket in the WAFU U17 Cup in Lome, Togo.

This follows a statement signed by the team’s media officer, Francis Achi, who alleged that the five-time world champions are facing challenges ahead of today’s game against Cote d’Ivoire.

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will play against Baby Elephants in their group opener today, while Ivory Coast who came a day after Nigerians arrival have completed their MRI Tests, 13 Nigerian players are yet to go through the test and are expected to conduct the test on the match-day.

The statement signed by the media officer reads in part,

“From all indications, it appears that there is a massive conspiracy against the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria here in Lome, the venue of WAFU B U 17 tournament.

“The Golden Eaglets were the first to land Lome, Togo on Sunday for the Tournament. As at the time of filing this report the team is yet to do the mandatory MRI tests for the players.

The Golden Eaglets waited 1pm Togo time for the MRI tests, sadly the players are to conduct the test.

“The WAFU B Tournament organisers rescheduled the MRI test to 9:00 pm (Togo time) and the more shocking thing is that only twelve players will undergo the MRI tests this evening while the remaining 13 players will have theirs by 7:00am tomorrow the day of the game.

Meanwhile, the Baby Elephants that came in yesterday (Tuesday) have all performed their MRI tests, gone back to their hotel to relax ahead of the today’s game against Nigeria.”

They have nothing to fear if they're really as young as they say or else it will be their fault for lying about their age when the MRI results come.

They are not afraid

Its the francophone tactics to keep them restless before their game.
They should have done this long ago and be waiting for their game

Hehehehe.....it is what it is, any country can flex muscles on Nigerians and nothing will happen, A country that doesn't give a damn regarding the affairs of it's citizens should not expect preferential treatment from any Nation, not even Mozambique.....

They are used to it, It's Nigeria way... so it doesn't seem strength to them in another country.

Same way an Hausa underage would registered for voters card and get it the same day, while An Igbo man would registered and get it a week after election....

Nigerians are the lest citizens to any country out there..........

Make una dey try read beyond headline na...

The issue is not the test in itself, but the deliberate delay to lend an advantage to their opponents who have already been tested and chilling ahead of the coming game.

A good conscience fears no accusation..... The great uncles and grandpas among the eaglets will surely be shivering now......

This reminds me of the Eaglets that prosecuted the 2005 CAF U-17 tournament. Some of the players were in their 30s and had like 2 - 3 kids.
