The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, NPM, mni, on Thursday, declared opened a two-day strategic executive retreat for the Force Management Team at the National Institute of Police Studies, Abuja.

The re-organization of the Nigeria Police Force to include an additional department – the Directorate of Intelligence, expansion of the Police zonal structure from 12 to 17, the creation of two FCID annexes as well as the reconstitution of the Management Team following the retirement of majority of the serving DIGs gave birth to the retreat.

In his address to the new Management Team, IGP Adamu noted the importance of strategic managers being acquainted with the vision and mission of an institution.

“The aim of this retreat is to ensure that every DIG in charge of a directorate to be acquainted with the responsibilities of the directorate in terms of identifying strategies, analysing them, and coming up with activities for the objectives of the directorate,” IGP Adamu stressed.
