PRESS STATEMENT
GOVERNOR LALONG MOURNS RETIRED AIG DAN BATURE
Governor Simon Bako Lalong says he is shocked by the sudden death of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police Mr. Dan Bature who died at the age of 58.
Lalong while commiserating with his family and the people of Plateau State said the nation has lost a committed and dutiful personality who served the country throughout his career in the Nigeria police force with dignity, courage and zeal.
He said even in retirement, AIG Bature continued to serve the nation and Plateau State by offering his wealth of experience and also impacting his immediate community tremendously.
The Governor also praised the contributions of the late AIG Bature to the restoration of peace and security in Plateau State through his consistent engagement in peace building and capacity building for crime fighting.
Lalong said that the late police officer also did a lot to empower youths in his community and within the State as well as engaged in entrepreneurial activities that created employment opportunities for many youths and added value to the economy.
He prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and comfort the family.

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and a Business Mogul, Late Da Shok Daniel Bature who died on Friday 8th January, 2021 after a brief illness will be buried on Saturday 16th January, 2021.
This was contained in a statement signed by Da Hon. Dr. Jonah Madugu, Dan Masanin Jos on behalf of the Family which reads;
OBITUARY
The Loh Gyes family of Gashish district, Barkin Ladi L.G.A announce the passing away of our Son, Husband, Father and brother, the late AIG Daniel Shok Bature(Rtd) Psc+, Fdc, Msc. on Friday 8th January 2021 after a brief illness, he was aged 58yrs.
Until his demise he was engaged in private business after successfully retiring from the Nigerian Police Force after 35years of meritorious service.
He was also the Chairman of the Police Cooperative. Left to mourn him is his wife, children, siblings, numerous relations and friends.
Burial arrangements are as follows:
Service of songs on Friday 15th January 2021 at Tamarald Event Centre, Industrial Layout, Jos at 5pm.
Funeral service on Saturday 16th January 2021 at COCIN LCC Rayfield at 9am.
Interment follows immediately after the Church service at his residence No.4 Shok Bature Avenue, Clerk’s Quarters Rayfield Jos.

BECO MOURNS THE SUDDEN DEATH OF DANIEL SHOK BATURE, AIG (rtd).
The Berom Educational and Cultural Organisation (BECO), received with the rudest shock the news of the death of one of its most committed members and an illustrious son of the Berom nation, Da Daniel Bature Shok, AIG (rtd). This sad event came on the heels of the Commissioning of renovated blocks of classrooms at the BECO Comprehensive High school Kwi, last week, by His Majesty the Gbong Gwom Jos Da Jacob Gyang Buba, where the late Dan was in attendance, looking very hale and hearty.
While we accept that death is an appointment all mortals will keep, we are all the same, most pained and devastated by this very sad development.
We pray God to comfort his immediate family, the Berom nation, Plateau state and the country at large. May the good lord rest his gentle soul in perfect peace. Sleep on Dan Bature…
