A mayor in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas was tied to a tree by angry residents who were disgusted with the poor condition of a new water tank.

Local media outlets reported that Óscar Ramírez was presenting a series of public projects that had been promised to habitants of the city of Frontera Comalapa on Monday.

Representatives of the 11 communities that make up the town confronted and questioned Ramírez over the water system's dilapidated state before they temporarily held him against his own will.

Next time, the mayor or any other official will think twice before engaging in substandard projects like this. In Nigeria, the people wont mind, they will only comment about it on social media and continue with their lives

Wouldn't it be cool if we can tie our public officials like this when they embezzle, misappropriate, err or misbehave? And have them at least flogged? Just imagine!

If we can do this to half of all the government officials that give us candle while we expect 24 hours electricity , Naija for don past many european countries in terms of development and infrastructure.

We won't even tie them we go publicly flog them with beta 2 by 2 and pepper for eye.

They've also used poverty and hunger to cuff us, if they come around to share/give 500 to each residents of their communities, the queue under the sun will shock you.

Some will even knee and sing praises because of that 500.

That's what poverty and hunger can do.

if u compare the standard of living of an average Mexican with that of an average Nigerian, it is almost the same despite their closeness to the United States. Poverty is also a big issue over there. The issue is mindset, not poverty. The mindset here has been so corrupted here that people now equate both good and bad. Good can never equal bad in any other parts of the world apart from Nigeria, most African countries.
