They all have addresses and sources of money.

Maybe they don’t just believe in running businesses with physical structures like factories.

However, an indicator of the fragility of communal values is when big and expensive cars and houses become the only indicators of sustainable wealth.

The narrative should expand - wealthy Nigerians especially my Anambra brethren should show more interest in supporting education by building libraries, internet hubs and laboratories in secondary and tertiary schools.

They should also show interest in supporting medical research and ICT solutions to develop cheaper cures to conditions like tetanus, rheumatism, muscle aches and stroke.

The entire concept of empowerment should be reworked to also reward excellence in STEM programs.

Many local communities don’t have access to clean water.

Many communities don’t have proper local market setting where traders can get protection from the rain and sun.

Many local health centers don’t have sufficient manpower and drugs.

These days, an increasing number of rural dwellers only depend on politicians who pretentiously organize annual medical outreach programs to access diagnostic services and treatment for life destructive ailments.

In the area of apprenticeship, inflation has so devalued the Naira that a N1M settlement grant given after 7 years of apprenticeship is barely enough to hire a shop.

Most people these days simply spend the cash on obtaining Visas to Europe and Asia where they undertake another round of apprenticeship called hustling this time to make ends meet.

Owing private car garages worth N300M is not how society develops.
