How were we able to buy petrol at less than #100 when the price of crude oil per barrel was high then? |

Bolingua1: Removing subsides means that marketers are now free to raise prices to as high as 200-300 naira per liter....which means trbule poltically...but beenfits economcially after some time...INCLUDING THOSE corrupt people you are rightly bashing. Plus it means it now becomes more profitable to refine fuel at home...instead of importing it. GEJ treid it. Raised prices from N65 to N140. He got protests and was forced to cut it to N97. At the end of the day, Buhari, and APC don't want to lose power...so they keep subsides at the expense of the economy |

As long as the refineries are not working, you will continue to have subsidy. Unless you want people to buy at N590 per liter and if you do that , expect the unexpected 1 Like |
