It doesn't work that way. Physical training is needed here not absentia. Best they can do is to reduce the intending corp members by 60% and have them come in batches

Which NYSC has done superbly. Orientation camps were supposed to house 2000+ corpers at once but the last two batches had averages of 700 Corp members. Even wearing of mask and regular washing if hands were enforced to a considerable level. If graduates can't protect themselves, what class of Nigerians can we trust to do the needful? NMA should be looking at other areas instead of trying to engage NYSC.

I even say in the write up where one doctor was talking about testing. Every single PCM were tested before being admitted into camps. They can stop worrying.

No one is saying abolish nysc
But must there be 21day camping?

We can understand schools being reopened. Those kids have been at home for a full session now. But Nysc?
What benefit has it done to the youths that makes it more important than being safe from a pandemic
on the part of some corp members, it's for the experience and other stuff that go down in camps grin. On the part of Government, I don't get undecided. Cos I bet it's not going to be a bubble thing like how some events are holding so what's the point undecided. The PTF keeps showing how they're just a press task force sad.

Nigerian doctors are on the mission to save their faces.

Nigerians Scientists and the Doctors need to do more than condemning the opening of schools and camps. Since the inception of this pandemic Nigeria, no doctor has elucidate why the fatality rate in Nigeria and other African countries is lower to the west. There has not been any constructive and decisive argument concerning the treatment and prevention of this virus. Most Nigerians will never believe the authenticity of this virus because of the following;

1) The most densely populated areas in Nigeria are seemed to be immune to this Virus

2) The middle and high social class in Nigeria, who have the means to prevent themselves against the virus are the major acclaimed casualties of this virus.

3) There is no substantial claim to remove the notion that, Covid19 is not another version of Malaria.

4) The major disease in Africa is Malaria. Malarial casualties in a month is more than the reported casualties of covod19 in almost a year

I don't blame the government, the NYSC officials & the even the corpers who would travel for service. If the pandemic ravaging now was Ebola would anyone dare risk his/her life?

You are on point. As against the Doctors' apprehensions, NYSC's opening of camps should serve as model to other institutions in Africa such as Universities and Polytechnics on ways to adapt in the midst of pandemic. African economic indices is fragile. We cannot afford another round of lockdown. We will have to device means to survive. Nysc has lead the way during the last orientation. In addition to testing all course participants, it went ahead to ensure total compliance to the Covid-19 protocols during the orientation programme. Nigeria Medical Association should leave the matter to NYSC and NCDC. They should devote their precious time to medical research and development of a local made Vaccine so that we don't rely on chinko made vaccines.

I absolutely agree with the doctors. NYSC should have conducted virtual orientation and deployed corpers directly to their places of assignment.

PLEASE HELP US NOT TO POST ANYTHING FROM THESE MEDICAL WHATEVER. WE SEE MANY OF THEM IN RESTURANTS EVERY NIGHT. YOU ARE GOING ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS AND EVEN BUILDING HOUSES. GO AND ADVISE THE GOVERNMENT NOT TO FLY AROUND. LET ALL FLIGHT BE SUSPENDED FOR NOW. YOU KNOW IT IS NOT POSSIBLE. GO AND TELL THE GOVERNMENT TO FEED THE PEOPLE. YOU MUST KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHARM AND CORONA. LET GOVERNMENT REDUCE YOUR SALARIES AND FEED THE MASSES. PLEASE STOP SPREADING HUNGER NEWS!

I still don't know why NMA and some certain miserable doctors keep clamouring for another bout of lockdown
Don't they have conscience
How insensitive can they be ?
Nigeria and Nigerians are yet to even recover from the scourge of the first lockdown and now you are running your mouth and talking trash that another total lockdown should be in place
What nonsense
Someone should tell NMA to mind and respect themselves oo
Nigeria can never offord another lockdown

Lockdown and and see a fragile country going into deep crisis that no matter how covid-19 bite hard it would be a joke compared to what's coming if they try that nonsense

From the beginning we have known that COVID is not deadly to most people especially if they are young and lack pre-existing conditions. So your experience is typical. The problem is that when you catch it, you may transmit it to someone who is more vulnerable, and the person may die. How would it feel to bury your parents or grandparents knowing that you killed them by passing this selectively deadly disease to them?

Baruda I hail you
